What titles?

I thought Rangers went bust in the summer. I had no idea they were still going.

weybridgewanderer Rangers Football Club has won an appeal against a tax bill over its use of Employee Benefit Trusts.

can all this talk of cheating, striping titles, unaffordable players etc stop now?

I suspect for many this will just be the "establishment club" being supported by its "friends"

Not paying the Queen your dues in order to win titles seems like cheating and she's not happy 'bout you being let off on the extra dodgy deals.
Happily the SPL still think there is a case to answer. SPL the true loyalists!

celtic taken 1 point from their last 3 home games and they are still top of the league with a game in hand

sounds enthralling

Not really cos didn't they go bust because of all the other debts they racked up other than the EBTs.

Without the EBTs, what was this "massive" debt rangers had?

I think this shows your basic lack of understanding of rangers situation

HMRC rejected the CVA on the basis they were more than owed 75% of the £100M+ debt, the vast majority of which was EBT money

Turns out that we did not owe £100+ M and the revenue were not owed 75%+ of the debt so could not have rejected the CVA alone

Additionally if it had not been for the EBT case the bank might not have had the jitters and other buyers would likely have bought the club before Craig Whyte did.

Whyte bought a business that was managing its debt, brining it down, from 30M to 18M. He quickly sset stripped us, hid money, illegally secured the funding to buy us and accumulated a 20M PAYE bill in 12 months.

He, in my opinion, should go to jail for tax evasion.

Sellic will prob win the title, but they're not doing so at a canter.
but that's beside the point, they're irrelevant, it's the race for second that's important and why the SPL has new life.
Hope Green keeps his word on never coming back!

European competition, and the chance for smaller clubs to earn a slice of Rangers ill-gotten pie.

I think it's fair to say that I think that you post a gigantic amount of sh1t about Rangers, but on this point, I completely agree with you.

I knew someone would say this, yet again a distinct lack of knowledge

This season there is no 2nd Champions league qualifying spot for the SPL, so after celtic, the remaining teams are playing out for the same number of Europa league positions and share of the European pie as always. the same opportunity to be knocked out of a Europa league qualifier

Whatever they are fighting for, it's a spot Rangers can't take, it's a good thing.

In a move that should surprise nobody, HMRC are to appeal the tribunal verdict.

Ignoring all the bile and hyperbole surrounding Rangers (and Scottish football in general), where does this verdict leave Rangers should it be upheld? Are they in a position to sue the SPL and/or SFL, or HMRC because if, as I say, the verdict is upheld Rangers have been thrust into what can only be described as a falsely negative financial position so serious that it nearly sounded the death knell for the club. I betray a distinct lack of knowledge for what happens in this scenario, but people go to jail for bringing companies down so surely someone outside of Rangers is equally as culpable for this? I say this because, without HMRC's current legally erroneous opinion regarding the amount of tax they were owed it is highly likely the administrative action would not have been taken by Craig Whyte, surely?

Who do Rangers think they are?

Shouldn't have spent more than they had in the first place should they?

They should count themselves lucky they still exist and move on...............
