Ian Royal You people never had signings that just don't inspire you for some reason before? Nothing bizarre about that. Doesn't matter whether he's turned up for training or not.
He'll still get support from me until he proves he isn't good enough in matches or he doesn't get near the first team squad for the rest of the season.

Ian Royal Like the look of this guy a bit more than Carrico, who for some reason I haven't warmed to in the slightest. Although the CB/DM thing still unnerves me.

We've just signed the 24yr old captain of Sporting Lisbon, a player that has captained every Portugese national side up to U21 level. He has played a lot of European football and in some big games against other European giants.
Considering the hstory of Reading and the calibre of player we've signed, a relatively unknown player Emerse Fae is still our biggest signing, i'd suggest this is a pretty inspiring acquisition.
I think you need a reality check. We will all judge him on his performances of course, howevever his background is testament to a good pedigree and the club should be applauded.

tbf I'd heard of Fae when we signed him, had never heard of Carrico before we were linked to him.

bennno Here comes the sun....
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun(zu)
Here comes the sun(zu), and I say
It's all right
or House of the rising sun
Well, there is a defender at Reading
They call the Rising Sun(zu)
And he's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And today the risk is its you

1) He possibly doesn't have a best position as demonstrated by being a CB / DM. This has not been a positive sign in the past. It just screams not physical / tall / consistent enough to be a CB, not good enough awareness / passing to be a midfielder.
2) He has barely played a game this season.
3) That we've managed to sign him so quickly suggests he doesn't have a lot of better options.
4) The rumours of big clubs showing an interest in him for multi-millions previously, whilst he couldn't get into a struggling Sporting side and went to us for barely £0.5m is not a good sign.
5) Most importantly, I don't like his face or hair.
Anyway, that's enough of this nonsense for now.

Ian Royal No. Although he's played significantly more than Carrico has for Sporting despite his contract shenanigans.

Your irrational hatred for a man you don't know anything about is getting ridiculous.
