Dead insects on the menu?

by Royal Biscuitman » 14 Jan 2013 08:01

From today's Metro:

It’s all foul… footy food is anything but a feast
ON the pitch, they’ve served up the recipe for success season after season. But Manchester United were shown the red card by health inspectors after a search of kitchens uncovered an infestation of mice. Flaking pipework and a broken tap were also hazards to food hygiene at Old Trafford, a report reveals. But they’re not bottom of the league when it comes to serving dodgy dishes. At Chelsea, inspectors cried ‘foul’ after spotting the club sell out-of-date turkey and steak and mushroom pies to fans. Swansea City also came in for some flak for serving half-cooked chicken, while at Reading dead insects were discovered in a drinks area, a report revealed. All clubs have since cleaned up their act, the Premier League food hygiene survey found.
