Effectively my match-day travel, which would be 20 minutes in each direction, will be extended to somewhere above six-and-a-half hours.

A mate of mine is a Saints supporter who happens to live nearer to Fratton than St Mary's and he had to drive to Southampton to get the official supporters coach to Portsmouth . Not far in the grand scheme of things but a couple of hours of inconvenience pre and post match.
Just another example of all football fans being tarred with the same brush.

Yes. The bubble tactic should only be used in the most extreme circumstances; where there is a history, and a high probability, of serious disorder. I reckon, maybe, a handful of matches, at most, fall into the category.

Even games like Man Utd/Liverpool and Newcastle/Sunderland aren't bubble games.

It really is a silly plan.
If they're worried about all day drinking in Huddersfield then just put on extra police around suspected hot spots and then act if a problem arises. But, at the end of the day, 95% of Hull fans won't be all day drinking and, of the others, less than 1% will be a problem.
Surely it would be better for Huddersfield if they have a few football fans milling around the town and spending money all day?


Also, if the police were worried about a late kick-off, don't they have the power to refuse to let sky do it? I know they have the power to do that with Premier League games, hence why the big derbies are always lunchtime games!
