using my eyes and brain without reference to stats i can see that are both good players.
i can also see that mcanuff does more for the team in general.

its also clear to me hes probably been our best player this season in terms of consistency

I agree on all of that, but I still think that at the times when McAuff has been having a quieter game, or when he should've been played as the attacking option through the middle, McLeary should've been used more.

Same with Kebe. He's had some shockers this season and been rushed back into the side when coming back from injury. I think we'd have been more competitive if we'd used McLeary more in the Premier League (same goes for Robson-Kanu at times too).

He had a good game against Villa

McCleary is just too "direct" - he's good to come on and run at defenders but he just doesn't have that edge to make him stand out from the start

agree on mcleary.

still think mcanuff and kebe are clearly the best two wingers we have, as well as being two of the hardest working team players we have.

PeteH1985 The pizza, snow clearing Nutter is a self confessed racist and is in the middle of a disciplinary with the fa for racially abusing his own player and the players there are testifying to this.
A nazi salute does not make you racist but is very ill judged, insensitive and down right irresponsible. I don't want a man who does that to manage my team.
Also read up on the Italian fascist party he is a ember of; it makes the BNP seem like a bunch of lefties

DON'T BACK THE GUY HE'S AN IRRESPONSIBLE LOVEABLE NUTTER

I can't find what party he's a member of. I see it's been banned I think. I don't endorse him I'm just saying he's a nutter, not a bad man and yes I'm relieved he isn't in the running.

I watch the games very well thank you, the differences probably lie in how you've interpreted what you've seen. It has looked like one big stitch-up to me, involving the managers favourites who put in bad shift after bad shift yet still get the nod. No manager worth their salt would find that acceptable and no experienced supporter would either.

Of course it can't be expected that such a limited squad would have the ability to outplay sides in this division, however, the squad is a squad so that you can at least rotate the players when some are seemingly struggling and the varying tactical strengths of the opposition dictates as much. It has been an easy payday for a lot of the players here this season and it needs to change IMO.

Hate to do this but.................i agree

but whilst Kebe is injured i'd rather start with HRK over McC BUT he should have switched over to the left on Saturday instead of being kept on the right wing

pretty much every player has been dropped or taken off at somepoint, this season has seen more squad rotation than any other i can remember.

Snowball McCleary, two goals and 9 assists, more assists than any other player including McAnuff and playing less than half McAnuff's minutes

He's one of those players who's not been used enough this season and, in my opinion, one of the failings of McDermott this season to get more from him.

Those assists are presumably heavily weighted towards the cups aren't they? Slightly misleading when we've had the crazy game against Arsenal and high scoring performances against Sheff Utd, Crawley and Peterborough.

He should've played more in place of Kebe and/or McAnuff though (who I'm guessing is still way ahead in terms of Premier League assists despite his so called appalling season).

Agreed, last time I checked Jobi was still towards the top of the assists table for the PL and McCleary was nowhere.

Yes, of course they have. Does that mean they have all had a FAIR chance then?

You’ll just have to leave brendy to his notion that all players have had a fair chance this season. I’m sure McDermott doesn’t have a Guthrie dartboard in his garage, but nevertheless, you’ve got to have your head cemented into the ground not to realise there’s been more going on this season than general rotation for footballing reasons.

True, but the popular accusation of loyalty to some players for no good reason is cretinous. There's clear reasons for why McDermott picks his teams and it's not just blind loyalty. The decisions may not all be correct, but anyone willing to actually consider it seriously who has half a brain can work through the logic.

guthrie played well in his first two games.
then stopped playing well and was dropped.
he refused to play, and was dropped fr5om the squad so he could sort his head out, and punished for his outrageous actions. then he got injured. as soon as his injury cleared he was back in the squad. had a few starts. still didnt really stamp his authority on any games, and never really did anything that screamed " you must pick me every week"

no vendetta, just an average player with some issues who thinks hes better than he is.

the only player who hasnt been dropped for footballing reasons is mcanuff.
and despite what morons may think, hes been our hardest working, and highest achieving player this season, so probably deserves to play.
