PieEater They would also argue why should they pay anything towards it at all if they won't own it and have to pay rent.

Because the changes are to make it suitable for football. Without West Ham the stadium wouldn't need anywhere near as much investment.

Kitsondinho Err....I seem to remember playing City in League One not so long ago. West Ham are very comparable to City then. As you said yourself Orient will always be smaller than West Ham. All of Orient's current fans aren't just gonna walk out on them.

Yes but Man City were getting big crowds in Division 3! Still a well supported club. Orients current fans will not walk out on them no but they won't have any space to grow as a club!

But like i said the smaller 'greater' Manchester clubs are nowhere near as close to the bigger clubs as this will be!

You mean the changes are required to make it suitable to rent. There are no tenants who will pay rent on an athletics stadium.

If you rented a shop you would expect to pay to fit it out, not to rebuild it.

Is the rent just for the football season or the whole year?

I.e who gets the future revenue from concerts in the summer etc?

Everything I've read on the subject indicates that the stadium holding company will setting up a separate operator to manage the non-sporting events, and that revenues generated with have fukc all to do with West Ham

The biggest outrage is that the West Ham owners have to take on no share of the risk - West Ham have to contribute £15M, but Gold & Sullivan get to sell off the Boleyn Ground for redevelopment and pocket the takings themselves.

An outrageous state of affairs - but then again this has always been just a property deal in their eyes and what they always had in mind has now come to pass.
