I expect the team to reflect the last few games where Adkins gets a chance to look at pairings and combinations. This is very much a learning curve in preparation for pre-season and the assault on the Championship. Whereas a win would be really good, the performance and attitude is far more important.

RockheadRumple Might as well try and f/cking score for once.

--------------- McCarthy ---------------

Gunter --- Morrison --- Marriappa --- Shorey

McCleary --- Guthrie -- Karacan* --- McAnuff

------- Pogrebnyak --- LeFondre -----------

*Carrico if possible, but probably unlikely.

I'd pretty much go with this I think - including the * next to Karacan's name! If Akpan is fit I wouldn't mind him starting. Wouldn't necessarilly mind Pearce in for Morrison at the back as we looked a bit shaky defensively on Saturday and I really don't want to lose this game. We've got to go for this one - a defeat means we're down (and even a draw would should Wigan win on Saturday.) I really don't want to lose this one - on the other hand relegating QPR might be nice!

windermere_royal Nigel has already said Carrico is nowhere near fit enough to start a game, amazing really after 4 months at the club.

I reckon he is just trying to keep him secret until next season - so we don't lose him in the summer......
