TSW drink driving happens a lot, not often people die. Doesn't make it ok though.

Pushing, shoving, jibbing etc is hardly going to help ease a crush is it?

The FA decided to give Liverpool fans (average attendance that season well over 40,000) the smaller end and about 5000 tickets less than Nottingham Forest (average attendance that season 19000). They gave us 18000 tickets and Forest 23000. So some Liverpool fans would have tried to buy outside at rip off prices. However, as TSW stated above, it has been proven beyond doubt (see Taylor report 1990 and H.I.P. findings 2013)that this played no part in the disaster. Some fans will have had a drink before the game. SO oxf*rd WHAT. People having a drink before football has gone on for a century and this also played no part in the disaster. Police opening a gate and failing to make it known that the 2 centre pens were full and the outside ones were half empty caused it 100%.

Exactly. Just because 'that's how crowds act' doesn't make it right to behave that way.

So no fans arriving late travelled by other means, they all went by coach and didn't drink?

Yes some had a drink. The vast majority went by coach. It would take you less than a minute to google the findings of the panel. They spent over a year pouring over 400,000 documents before reaching their conclusions. READ IT !!

You said it. So there were Liverpool fans there ticketless and aggrieved Forest got more tickets.

So what % of the 18,000 (more when you account for ticketless fans) Liverpool fans travelled by coach?

Yes I have never said otherwise. BUT THAT HAD NO BEARING ON WHAT FOLLOWED. READ THE FINDINGS OF THE H.I.P.. They know more about what happened than you. The results will tell you I am right.

I think it was 165 coaches with an average of 84 seats = 13000 +

Correct. Read up the make up of the panel. All of them. Not just Professor Phil Scratton. So who is correct ? A panel of highly educated people who spent over a year studying over 400,000 documents on the subject ? Or Kes and TMD

You 'think' it was 165 coaches and a total of around 13,000 fans who travelled by coach although it doesn't specify that in the report.

Well I have not just plucked that figure out of the air so it will be in the panels findings, though not on the opening page which is all I have glanced at today. I have read enormous amounts of the panels findings regarding everything from coaches stopped by police to police officers and match goers having their statements changed. I really do know a lot more about the tragedy than you. As do all that were on the panel. They seem to agree with my version of events rather than yours. You really should take the time to read instead of posting up your "opinions".

That would take away the "sport" of them yanking your chain and you responding like one of Pavlov's dogs.

Oh I have well learnt my lesson. They may think they are "yanking my chain" but I am merely correcting the idiotic nonsense spouted.

King of Sting peddled the lie about a "drunken mob of ticketless fans"..

Clearly a lie also peddled by one of my best mates who lived right next to the ground :|
The words "pissed and looking for trouble" spring to mind too

But hey ho, i've gone beyond the point of caring as we know it has been proved impossible to lay any criticism to a native of merseyside. For anything. Ever

it's not just you who falls for it. others have been getting done for years. Kes bowls a relentlessly nagging line just outside off-stump, ball after ball. everyone knows it's going to happen and yet people still have a flash at it.

Impossible to lay criticism to a native of Merseyside ? hahaha oxf*rd hell. We get criticised quite a lot and some of it is deserved.
