Has football technology gone too far?

by SLAMMED » 14 Jun 2013 22:45

An article by Yahoo talking about the ever changing technology and materials used in football manufacture and if the change has gone too far.

Looking at the video below they have a point.

Ironically, I don't think we have gone far enough with the technology that will truly aid the game in terms of excitement.

It's the same in every sport - golf and tennis are massively different from what they were years ago, the pole vault records were smashed when carbon fibre poles came in, and swimming had to ban the all-over, low resistance swimsuit a few years ago.

Things change - you either get on with it or ban new technology.

Will my favourite Sunday League side have the benefit of this technology. It shouldn't cost too much......

I had a go in a full body suit. Defo makes you more buoyant and raises your back legs making you flatter in the water (less drag). I'd say its the same difference in moving from swimming shorts to trunks. You're not really moving that much faster but it feels a lot easier.

Also i'd rather they actually tested the tech out on games rather than bullshit 'reason' argue with each other. Lets actually find out how vid replays(whatevs) affects the flow of the game
