Fulham for Sale

by exileinleeds » 10 Jul 2013 09:39

Wanted new billionaire owner for London club- assets include a fabulous riverside stadium with enough space for several nice apartments, and a ground share outside of the capital- a joint venture perhaps with near neighbours.

Plus free statue of Michael Jackson thrown in (preferably into the Thames if Fulham fans had their way).

Suspecting Zingarevich is regretting buying Reading now Fulham are up for sale.

Bigger club, better postcode, Premier League. No fishing here.

5 times the price though.

You're comparing apples with ... much more expensive apples.

No land, no room for commercial development, planning restrictions, massive debt.

Apparently the debt has been exchanged for equity- only £4m now.

The asking price is 150-200m.

Article says that £212m in loans from Al-Fayed have been converted to equity. Reduced their net debt from £193m to £4m.

Probably smaller debt than Reading had at the time of Zingarevich's purchase.

Probably smaller debt than Reading had at the time of Zingarevich's purchase.

But about £170m more expensive than Reading.

But a Premier League Club, with a bigger global name in a nicer part of the Country.

You were doing so well until you thought a built up area of London was a nicer part of the country to live than Berkshire.

He is a good businessman, a good owner of the Jaguars, and he'll be a good chairman at Fulham. Not your "typical American billionare". Born in Pakistan and moved to the US at an early age. He made a fortune in car parts starting with nothing, very self made (aka "living the American Dream"). And hopefully he'll ditch that bizarre Michael Jackson statue in front of the Cottage. :D

So who would you rather have as chairman? A Russian oligarch or an American billionare?

As far as I am aware this man has never been to a Fulham game in his life. And like all American owners will follow them from across the pond. At least Anton does come to watch the team ad take an active interest.
