Confirmed he'd had a job offer from Reading pretty much.........

Didn't he say he had a Premier League offer in March, which was obviously us. I think we dodged a nasty bullet with that one.

Rumour has it that Adkins was approached first & turned it down so we went for Poyet but I guess we'll never know....

That would make sense - when we first sacked BMc, Adkins was in legal dispute with Southampton over his sacking and couldn't accept any other role without seriously impacting his legal position. But a couple of weeks later, once he'd officially launched a claim for unfair dismissal, he was then free to accept other offers.
