I could be wrong, but I thought they showed Kebe at Selhurst Park earlier on SSN. They said he'd had a medical and was discussing personal terms.

Hoop Blah
Royal Lady It's not even official that he's going/gone is it?

He was a great player for us and I, for one, will miss having the luxury of being able to play him if we want to.

Until there is categoric evidence that he refused to play for us and wasn't injured, I'm going to believe Kebe. If the club were close to selling him to Palace, couldn't Palace have asked that he didn't play on Tuesday for fear of injury? I dunno - but it might be a possibility. Kebe himself said he was used as the scape goat by Adkins to deflect the criticism away from him. If Adkins knew Kebe was going to be off this week, it's not entirely implausible that he might do this, is it?

How did Adkins coerce Kebe into going on the radio on Saturday, then declaring himself unfit on Monday, then get Dellor to probe him on Kebe? To arrange that all in advance with the foresight of a gutless performance from a set of players who should do a lot better is some feat of management.

We should grateful to have such a genius amongst us!

Indeed. If he managed to do all of that he shouldn't be manager of Reading FC he should be running the sodding country!

As for Kebe being such a great player, as we have found out to our great expense, having a potentially great player who is 'injured' for as much time as he is fit isn't really that much use.

And I'm staggered that in the light of all of the evidence, including the fact that Saint Kebe has been shown to be guilty of refusing to play to force a move in the past, people still want to believe his account, rather than that of our manager.

RB could you please stop parrotting stuff that is blatantly obviously false. Kebe's appearances have been quoted numerous times and he's played far more games than he's missed through injury.

Yes, he has a bit of an injury problem and yes he takes too long to get fit and to get back to speed once he starts playing after an injury. But it's just plain nonsense that he's "'injured' for as much time as he is fit..."

Lets keep this sensible and not full of meaningless strawman rhetoric and hyperbole.

We should grateful to have such a genius amongst us!What are you on about? I didn't say anything about Adkins coercing him. I said that unless there is CATEGORIC evidence that he refused to play for us and wasn't injured, I'm going to believe Kebe. Adkins could well have decided to use him as a scape goat (if he thought he was going to be off) when he decided to bleat on about him suddenly declaring himself injured and practically blaming Kebe for the whole debacle on Tuesday night. :|

Royal Lady Kebe has been a great player for this club and, until this week, I'd never heard him court publicity. So it seems very out of character for him to stir up trouble, especially if there is an imminent move for him on the cards.

So I'm reserving judgement on Kebe until I know the real facts. #justsayin

The only other times he's courted publicity since I first heard of him when we showed an interest in him have been when he's been having a moan and trying to stir things up. I don't think that's a coincidence. How many times has he done this, as I'd never heard him court publicity before last Saturday.

Royal Lady People on here are far too quick to denounce players and then suddenly they're flavour of the week - see Guthrie for further details. If Kebe goes, I shall be very sad but wish him well and he'll definitely get a round of applause from me if we ever play against him in future.

You're right that there's quite a fluctuation in opinion at times, but that's in life not just on here. As for Guthrie though, he's taken quite some time to win over the majority of fans and he's done that by admitting his error and working hard to put things right.

I hope Kebe can be remembered for the highlights of his time here. Personally I'll remember him for what he was, a talented player who, on his day could be excellent, but missed far too much football and failed to fulfil his potential enough to really win me over.

If he was genuinely injured so much, you can hardly blame him for that....

Kebe was brilliant.

If he goes to the premiership, good luck to him.

Anybody who isn't appreciative of what he did for the club clearly never saw us play over the last three or four years.

The point is, that it's extremely suspect about how injured he actually was, both on Tuesday and in the past.

He wasn't fcuking injured on Tuesday. Even Ady (his most staunch defender) said on BBCRB you don't recover from a hamstring strain in a couple of days after Adkins had confirmed he'd done a full training session on the Thu.

Was a load of BS.

RL, the situation regarding Kebe being available or not was initiated by Kebe's phone call in the BBCRB on Saturday. If he hadn't of done that there wouldn't have been a story as nobody would've been expecting him to play in the same way. That was why Dellor specifically asked about Kebe and put Adkins in the position of telling the truth or covering up Kebe's sudden injury that stopped him being involved as planned.

When has Kebe done it before? He went running to the media to make his 'we need more player' outburst whenever that was, and by the quotes attributed to him he used the media to put pressure on his loan club to let him move to Reading in the first place.

In terms of his injuries, I wasn't blaming him as such, but there is some doubt in my mind over how quickly he's come back from injury in the past and, from the tone of Adkins interview on Tuesday night, he's had some reservations since March too. I'd blame him for that, but we'll never know the truth over that.

Is that Ady who went on and on last season about how great McCleary was and how he should be in the team ahead of Kebe?

Barney 28 pages on Kebe

Cult status is: you play 400+ games for your club, or you are extra special.

The 400 club: Stuart Beavon, Steve Death, Maurice Evans, Michael Gilkes, Martin Hicks, Phil Parkinson, Steve Richardson, Dick Spiers, Jimmy Wheeler.
Extra Special club: Robin Friday, Maurice Edelston, Ron Blackman.

Kebe - not in either club. Jog on sunshine, thanks for the few good performances. Enjoy a torrid time at Palace. Might see you next season, but hopefully wave to you as we pass divisions.

No doubt he will encounter a 'paper cut' in signing a contract with Palace, and be side-lined for a month.

Loved the guy but LOL at Gilkesy being in the "400 club" might have made 400+ apps but he's more like the "half a game in front of the Southbank" club.

Kebe has never been compared to Ruud Gullitt

Looks fairly obviously that Ady isn't actually Kebe's staunchest defender. :|

Still doesn't detract from the fact that on Wed morning Ady was defending Kebe saying he was injured so people should back off from making assumptions & then by some of act of God on Thursday he makes a full recovery to do a full training session.

To be fair to Kebe, feeling a little tightness or a twinge in your hamstring isn't something that needs to take weeks to recover from as Williams was suggesting. The bigger problem is if after feeling it tighten you then go and strain or pull it.

Doesn't change my thoughts on the reality of Kebe's injury on Monday though.
