Been a while since someone started a weekend footy thread. It's like no cares this season.

Everton are looking ok under Martinez. Don't have the killer blow (nor money to buy one) to play with big boys, but nice to see them playing so well.

And yeah, at those two free kicks !

Looking forward to the Manc derby - suspect Utd will turn them over.

First one into top right corner. Keeper sets himself a yard or two over for the next one. Second one in off the left hand post. 8)

Didn't see it until this morning but Guzan's save at the end was

At the moment but it's not that big a gap and Isco is three years younger with a lot of potential to get even better. Ozil was a good player for Madrid but he's not irreplaceable. Particularly at the start of last season there was a period of about four or five months where he fell away badly including two games against Sevilla and Deportivo where Mourinho took him off at half time and although he improved after the Winter break he never truly regained his form from the previous seasons.

He could go missing in the bigger games, especially the CL and his fitness levels were awful with him being the first one subbed most of the time. It'll be interesting to see how he does in the PL in that regard because the League is far more physical than La Liga.

Liverpool had a shocker against Saints - no co-ordination whatsoever. Dunno whether it's just me but Agger never really seems like a top class centre back, he's ok but not as good as the scousers have had in that position.

There's an interesting sub-plot I'm keeping tabs on this season even though it's got some way to actually happening but not impossible - West Ham v Leyton Orient would be an amusing fixture next season if the Olympic Stadium gets done in time and former drops while the latter gets promoted.
