yep. wouldn't describe it as a flattering score line at all. Better up and down the pitch.

Good win for the nine men. I enjoyed it all, and the young players looked great - Sturridge is so confident at the moment and Townsend couldn't have been better. Hart looks a bit like Federici did at times last year, but made a good save when he needed to.

Will Hodgson be brave enough to ditch Lampard or Gerrard? Not playing Wilshere seemed like the worst managerial stance since Hoddle tried to claim Michael Owen wasn't a striker.

Agree.

Baines better than Cole. Rooney showing a bit of swagger. Townsend showed an option beyond Walcott.

Gerrard looking old, Lampard looking old.

Does the result against Poland matter for anything? can we play Wilshere and Barkley and see what happens?

The worst thing about watching England at the moment is actually ITV's negative coverage. Always looking for the controversy. Especially if we aren't spanking someone like they for some reason think we should.

Maguire England outclassed them all night. 4-1, job done, fukk the haters.

+1

Thoroughly deserved and, even though they aren't one of the footballing big boys, as part of the old Yugoslavia they're not the same as a proper minnow with no footballing heritage and ability and they've had some decent results so its a decent result and a good performance.

While the likes of Townsend and Baines will (quite rightly) take plenty of plaudits for tonight the performance that probably pleased me most was that of Sturridge. Most complete No. 9 I think we've had for a long time. Offers a genuine threat in behind and capable of linking up play very nicely as he showed tonight. Plenty of concerns in defence and midfield still exist for me, but if we can keep that front 4 fit and firing for this summer and add in the likes of Walcott and Ox as impact subs we'd give most teams a decent test at the very least.

Well deserved victory for England, first half was a bit tentative but we still made their keeper work and had by far the best chances. Very pleased 2nd half, impressive stuff from Andros Townsend who helped tip the balance with his purposeful attacking. Great to see England creating so many chances in a meaningful game, good show.

Just one more nail biter on Tuesday evening and we can hopefully look forward to the World Cup draw on December 6th.
