Oooh I can't agree with you there. Football is thriving and becoming increasingly popular by the year, and it still hasn't exploited the American or Asian markets properly yet either.

Football may be turning into something the purists will hate, but I don't think it's in danger of dying anytime soon.

England's big problem is that for years investment in developing players has been put aside in favour of buying other countries development work. Meanwhile learning nothing from them.

This is why we have a poor England team. Loads of money but spent on other things. It is going to take ages to fix this.


Meanwhile. Recognising we are shit allows me to appreciate the odd good performance when it comes along. Rather than expecting better.

Well guess what Mr "Major tournaments are not the same without us" ? No one missed you! No one missed Garth Crooks giving a report from "the England Camp" during Spain vs Sweden, No one missed you're shit football and no one missed seeing the Ingerland mob chucking deck chairs at the fans of other countries and going on and on about this being "our year". Euro 2008 was a great tournament with great football.
