Saw this article and didn't realise footballers at that level earned so much.

Nothing compared to Premier, but for everyone else..............................

I started doubting the credibility of that article when it said the highest earners in the Championship are on £8,000 - £9,000 a week.

That's going to be a general figure though. Take out the obvious basket cases (Everyone at QPR, Pog, Royston) and it's probably pretty close to reality.

they state the average and then state £8,000 - £9,000 as the top earners.

I would imagine QPR, us, Wigan, Blackburn and Leicester all had players earning more than that, with possibly others players dotted around elsewhere too also earning more.

Haven't read the article though but does that include bonus' etc?!........maybe £8k is basic wage and then the rest is made up of appearance, goal, assist bonus etc

This will never happen, but I genuinely think Football would be for the better if the majority of players pay was based on meeting certain performance goals depending on role ( trying to accounti here for 2nd goal keepers and squad players who obviously will have different goals to "first teamers").

Different criteria for different players is not crazy and some might well be based on the day to day responsibilities.
