“In our existing deal, there have been some restrictions in terms of the other unbranded, fashion-based products we sell. That sat within our deal with adidas in certain lines and in certain markets.

“In our new deal, we have complete control of that. We will still work with Warrior, but we will have a much wider opportunity. That area of the business currently represents 50% of everything we generate so we still have another opportunity to develop similar kinds of revenues and that’s what encouraged us.”

Unbranded stuff makes up a very small % of sales compared to the branded stuff.

Its even in the post you're quoting Kes.

So in short Liverpool do make the most from sponsorship in the premier league? Good for them.

Amazed Newcastle made a profit! They spent quite a bit in January and finished 16th. Was it roughly £1 profit?

YateleyRoyal And what about the fact the club were screwed when sugar daddies hicks and gillet were there, so it got sold to another sugar daddy john Henry?

A Sugar daddy owner is one who pumps in money from their own personal wealth.
Hicks and Gillete were the anti thesis of sugar daddy owners. They purchased the club using a leveraged buy out. This means that they borrowed the money to buy the club and then put that debt onto the club. Liverpool went from being run on a £30m overdraft paying £3m a year in interest a year to about £400m debt with over £40m a year interest.
John Henry and co then purchased the club for the price of the debt wiping out the interest on the understanding that LFC become self sufficient. Record sponsorship deals off Warrior, gate receipts and TV revenue etc has made this possible.

This really shouldn't be on the thread for our friends across the park so sorry about that.

soggy biscuit Oof!

That shows how misleading a photo can be-the Stevenage player was about to kick the ball when Oviedo tackled him from behind, caught his foot and a free-kick was given against him.
It looked serious and all football fans would hope that it is not as bad as it appears.

Southampton (a)
Man City (h)

You gotta say Arsenal have the easier fixtures on paper BUT we all know Arsenal bottle it against the lower teams as well as the bigger ones.

Don't write off Spurs though, their remaining fixtures are

Liverpool (a)
Sunderland (h)
West Brom (a)
Fulham (h)
Stoke (a)
West Ham (a)
Villa (h)

Spurs do have the easiest run in there but they are 6 points off 4th with much worse goal difference meaning they effectively are 7 points off taking 4th and with only 7 games left they need 2 teams to slip up instead of 1.

If Spurs were 1 point better off (meaning 2 wins gets them that place) and Everton and Arsenal were to draw with each other then I think they would be outsiders for it but as it stands I think they are well out of it.

Although you're probably right

After the weekend they could be only 3pts off 4th with then Everton and Arsenal playing each other.....You can't see a game where you can say Spurs will lose, but Everton there are probably 3 there that they can.
