Now odds on.

Unless someone knows he's going before the weekend, I wouldn't think that's good odds. Can't see both Allardyce and Jol surviving West Ham V Fulham at the weekend.

AVB's problem is exactly the same as he had at Chelsea - he tried to change things over night, rather than building.

He should have just sold Bale and bought a couple of strikers - instead of inserting a whole new midfield and pushing Vertonghen to left back

It will be ridiculous if they sack him so soon after letting him spend all that cash though.

There's nothing in modern day football that isn't ridiculous...

southbank1871 They've cre8ed a shitload of (often good) chances in some games though, it's just nobody has been converting them into goals.

Stats are misleading though aren't they. They've had a massive amount of shots but I'd imagine about 90% of them have been from Townsend cutting inside and blazing it into the crowd from 40 yards.
Vertonghen at left back is an odd one when his partnership with Dawson looked pretty good. Rose (or Assou-Ekotto if they hadn't sent him on load) at left back would give them a better balance and be much stronger in the middle.

I suspect the key question though is exactly how much of that money was spent on players he wanted.

Spurs' fans expectations are ridiculously high.
They are just about a top 6 club and had un unbalanced side last season with just one player providing nearly all of their big moments.
They are going along quite nicely in the Europa League and are not far off top 4.

Their problem IMHO is that none of their signings have yet come off whereas in recent years we have seen players like Mata,Silva and Suarez making an immediate impact at other clubs and Spurs fans seem to think that was bound to happen at their club.
Why he rested their form player Townsend last Sunday and played that idiot Lennon I really don't know-I get the impression that AVB is just a bit too clever at times and possibly over-complicates what is really a quite simple game.

Tottenham Hotspur - putting the COCK into COCKerel. I didn't realise that they actually claimed ownership of said genus :?:

Wouldn't it be nice to think that rather than threaten to sue the pants off a tiny football club that they might instead embrace the fact that Fleet named their club after THFC and perhaps offer some sort of tie-in.....that would be good publicity and far more likely to 'secure the brand name' than aggressive persecution of an amateur club few would have heard of :!:

Of course, the best way to protect your brand name is by being successful.....and coming nowhere near to a league title in more than half a century and spending £120 million on a side which has managed an impressive 9 league goals all season is, I'd suggest, far more detrimental to a 'brand name' than having a miniscule 'rival' football club adopt a similar club crest :!:

I agree Floyd.

File this as a missed opportunity to connect with real football fans. But we shouldn't be surprised in this money-grabbing litigious age, and Spurs do themselves no favours by lumping Fleet in with counterfeiters who make their money by fraudently passing themselves off as the real deal. That was never Fleet's intention.

That said, Fleet have been a little naïve in allowing such a blatant copy through. It's not even subtle, but the net effect on THFC's bottom line is close to zero so the heavy-handed approach just looks like corporate bullying.

Agreed.

Woeful performance and I think AVB's time is numbered.

It just seems like AVB has no consistent team shape or settled first eleven, and his team selections are weird from time to time. It must be hard for a bunch of new signings to gel when the manager makes such decisions.

Like everyone else I guess, I'll be very surprised if AVB is still there tomorrow.

I said a month ago on here that every time I've seen them they've been a shambles and it's almost incomprehensible that a team with such individual talent can continue to get worse.

Tottenham outcasts Emmanuel Adebayor and Benoit Assou-Ekotto have risked the wrath of the club and its fans after appearing to mock Sunday's 5-0 defeat by Liverpool.
Assou-Ekotto, currently on loan at QPR, posted a picture of himself and the exiled striker smiling and holding up five fingers between them.
