Half Time Beer Pre-Order

If this works as well as it should, then fair play.

The club have got something right on this occasion.

How does this work then?

A system based on trust like the theatre when there's a raffle ticket next to your order? Can't see that working with footbaLOL fans somehow.

Think you order it on your phone, and show the details to the server.

So still involves queuing up, and probably a wait while they try and find your order.

Surely they know that usually at half time each bar sells 1000 pints (or whatever), so why don't they just pre pour 20% less than this to be on the safe side.

Considering how shit the "beer" is at the Mad Stad, I still don't understand why they don't install a multi-pour system. Cricket grounds have had these for years.

If I'm reading it right you buy a token before the game, which you then exchange for a pint at HT ?

Open to ideas I guess Nameless.

Maybe I'm boring but I'd probably just stick them on a stack of large shelves.

Where / how has it been tried?

I know the West stand has trialed pre-ordering food by phone or something but can't find anything about beer.

Ah right. I took a deep breath and went on to the OS

OS Pre-order for half time
In the East and West Stands, you can now pre-purchase your half time pint and hotdog to avoid waiting! Before the game, look out for our sellers, or buy your token from the bars in the middle of the East and West concourse. You can then go to the collection points at half time - which are fully signed and have replaced our bookmakers' stalls at Y23 and G8 - and pick up your items!

To be fair your image and caption refer to different things.

Good point, image is the Upper West (?) appy type thing.

Gonna all hang on whether the "queue" for the collection point justifies the "avoid waiting" claim.

Actually quite like a pint of MadStad Guinness that's been settling for a bit!

But I think I'll watch for the first week.

Did this for years in Y25. Scan the QR code on the back of Ratty's* head and your Fosters is waiting for you before you light your half time fag.

**only veteran Y25ers will get this

Have the Marketing Department tried getting a decent phone signal when the stadium is full? Can't even send/receive texts at certain times, let alone use an app!

Stacked-up behind the bar.

Remember going to White Hart Lane about 15 years ago and they did exactly this. Staff just spent the first half pouring pints. Got to the kiosk on the stroke of half time and the shutters came up to reveal 100s and 100s of pints piled behind the bar. Works well

... and we should have a multi-pour system as already mentioned. Its crazy pouring 1 at a time
