Weekend games 01/02

by TBM » 01 Feb 2014 11:49

Really started the thread to ask if the Newcastle Sunderland game was on TV?

BT sport has opted for West Ham v Swansea :|

Kevin Doyle scores 6 minutes into his debut for QPR.

Really good game between QPR and Burnley.

Swansea not able to cope with 19th century football, and haven't capitalised on Carroll's red card.

Newcastle losing 3-0 at home to Sunderland, not been a good week for them!

Fulham fans must be expecting the worse now, look certs to go down at this point.

Zaha could be a shrewd loan signing for Cardiff, turned the game for them against Norwich after being a goal behind.

Feisty game at Hillsborough that ended 10 v 9 and 1-0 to Weds against Barnsley, Frimpong got a red card on his loan debut for Barnsley.

Brentford conceded a last minute equaliser away at struggling Shrewsbury, the O's lost at Rotherham and Wolves won at home - shaping up to be a 3 way photo finish in League 1 with Brentford, Leyton Orient & Wolves all looking like they could get automatic promotion.

Andy Carroll sent off for being Andy Carroll.

It'll be rescinded because everything looks innocuous in slow motion, but at full speed it was a bit less clear cut.

I think it should be rescinded because Florres is a total embarrassment rolling around holding his face when there was no contact at all with his face. From what I could see Carroll clipped the top of his head.

Florres needs to be charged with bringing the game into disrepute or something to stamp out his blatent (successful) attempt to get an opponent sent off by feigning injury.

Hope it stands. His mate Nolan wasn't punished for his actions after the second West Ham goal against us a couple of years ago.

Thought he knew what he was doing and knew where Florres was but all a bit of handbags and a complete theatrical overreaction by Flores.

The Premier League relegation battle is interesting; Saints are 9th, with 35 points whilst Villa are 10th on 27 points. Fulham are bottom with 19 points - therefore the gap between 10th and 20th is the same as between 9th and 10th.

:o

Palace will shoot up 6 places with a victory today. I wonder when the last time that was possible during February?

I'm not sure how any team 4 points adrift with 14 games left could be regarded as certain to go down.

You pretty much always get teams at the bottom hitting form, and teams sliding down from mid-table. One win can change everything.

Correct it would be funny to see him get a ban for something he doesn't really deserve to be banned for.

I actually think everything looks far worse in slow motion and refs get slated for things that don't look half as bad in real time getting replayed to look like the guys being knocked into a different universe.
