Eaststandman Personally don't completely buy the 'so many injuries' argument because it is the same for every team.

its not exactly the same for all of them

Does anyone out there still support Nige Ladkins
With every defeat it seems another stalwart nobber jumps ship.
This week MmmMonsterMunch has decided he's had enough.
Is there anybody else left out there?

Extended-Phenotype
Wycombe Royal
Extended-Phenotype Injuries are not an excuse. Why is everyone getting injured? Why don't we have replacements?

Under-investment is not an excuse either. Why isn't our 'wonderful academy' providing us with appropriate cover?

And in the light of injuries, as everyone has said: why not protect the midfield with an extra man and go 4-5-1?

This one is on Adkins, I'm afraid. Poor management, poor selection, poor tactics.

They aren't excuses, they are explanations for the variance to the performance that was expected. I'm an accountant and I haven't to explain variances to our Plan. They aren't excuses for why the performance was poor, they explain WHY it was poor.

What does that even mean? Alright, they aren't valid explanations either.

Because of injuries
- why are so many players getting injured? sometimes it happens
- why don't we have adequate replacements?no investment

Because of lack of investment
- why aren't we investing?no money
- why not use the academy as cover?not quite there yet
- why not adopt a formation that would assist those out of position?key players unavailable in key positions

Yup, I don't think this ridiculous season has given him any chance at all. Not his sort of players, ridiculous injuries and an ownership crisis. Everyone makes mistakes, but I'm still totally behind him.

Key players were unavailable for the formation we did adopt.

My mate says this was worse than Sunderland (quality of opposition considered) and it was not worse than Posh but a hell of a lot less enjoyable, this season has been oxf*rd terrible and unenjoyable except 6 and a half games. Posh we thought was a one-off. This is the worst game that's been coming a long time.

Out of curiosity how many games have you attended this season?
Only ask because I'd be interested to hear from any nobber who's regularly watched Adkins in action and still thinks he's anything other than useless.
Is this person you?

Been to every single game this season bar Barnsley away. He's not had the squad he wants and needs time. However he makes some incredibly funny/silly/stupid decisions occasionally (possibly even quite often). I don't want him gone, but don't care if he goes as I can understand it. Still, I would to like him see him have more time.

'greed and point taken, but 'same' insofar as key players missing at crucial times obviously has a detrimental effect on all teams, however where is the back up, alternative strategy, tactics, application, effort and succession planning? Teams perform once or twice weekly, other businesses don't have that luxury and still maintain at least adequate standards. This team/manager/club or a combination of circumstances is being allowed to have too great an impact on the 'plan' why?

MmmMonsterMunch Quite sad that the heart & soul that this club has built up for years has just completely evapourated within 18 months. Not the RFC I started watching. Real shame. :(

The only way the club can recreate that connection with the fans is to bring some younger players though next season as there is no affinity with any of these players anymore.

I do worry about the likes of Pearce, Jobi etc. Even on bad days, they usually give their all but each & every player looks lost at sea right now. Something is not right.

They all look like they cannot wait until the season is over with.

I think the old guard are panicking somewhat. Adkins is asking them to pass it around and be smart about their play. McD used to ask them to whack it up the wing, whack it in the box.

They just aren't good enough to play modern football.

Look at the academy the other night, really composed, passing, no rushing, always wanting the ball. That's what Adkins wants, that's what I want. The old boys can't break the habit.

But how many of those in the Academy could cut it at Championship first team level now? Bet there's no-one.

That doesn't quite chime with why he was offered the job and is still in it then!

I can’t help feeling Adkins should consider changing his approach, if the players at his disposal aren’t up to playing the type of football he wants?

Some of us may support Adkins, some of us may not, but nothing will match the oxf*rd gayness of your nickname for him.

But isn't the point of a manager to - partially - adapt to the squad that he has? I admit that early on in the season I didn't mind him trying to play `his` brand of football - but when it becomes clear that Gorkss and Pearce are uncomfortable from playing out from the back why force it on them? I actually thought that Gorkss looked 10 times better last night when he gave up with playing it to feet and just tried to clear it, and I thought that actually brought ALF in to the game a little bit more - for the two minutes they actually gave it a go
