Football clubs making a profit

by PistolPete » 04 May 2014 22:06

I just made a bet that there are less than 5 top (champs league) clubs making a profit every year (loss occasionally). Am I right? I heard Arsenal are one, I know the Germans are unsurprisingly financially sound, but what's the truth?
Thanks if you can give some knowledge!!

Do you try to get things completely wrong?

Since when are Newcastle a Champions League side?

Personally I'd of gone for the fewer/less pedantry rather than the champions league point.

This is a bit out of date, and only relates to the prem - but gives you an idea of who made a profit and who made a loss that year - so keep an eye out for this years equivalent:

All I would add is that most business owners want to be seen at running at a loss - at least for tax purposes...
