I was there the week before to see Reading win 5-2 against the Third Division Champions. I remember hearing some rumours while at Ashton Gate the day of the tragedy and the true story came out on the way home. I don't think I have ever been so downbeat after a 3-0 away win.

Yes RIP to the fans that died. I shall be watching with interest to see if they do a minute's silence at the games today.

If I remember rightly when the fire started many of the fans ran to the back of the stand only to find the doors locked, running onto the pitch would have saved many lives, hindsight is a wonderful thing

That's right, and many couldn't also get to the pitch as it was a fair climb over.

I remember them showing the footage on World of Sport during the 2nd half of that afternoon's games.

I kind of got the feeling that hadn't really watched it themselves and didn't know what was on it, and didn't know how serious it was. At the time they'd said no more than the game at Bradford had been stopped because of fire in the stand.

As a 15-yo at the time I still remember it really vividly.

So there was no minute's silence at any games today for this then? Shame on the 'football family' for that.

I just watched that video again. Not seen it for a long time actually. Fcuking horrible.

The only teams playing this weekend to observe a minute's silence were Peterborough & Orient. None of the others bothered.

If that had happened to a PL club everyone would be observing a minute's silence. I think it's disgusting. You either mark these tragedies or you don't. Be consistent.

Yes that was good of them to do that. You'd think however that Derby would have seen Posh do the minute silence last night & taken note...
