...and so the saga continues...

http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/reading-fc-takeover-thai-consortium-7525379

The Thai consortium who are set to be confirmed as the new owners at Reading have released a statement thanking supporters for their patience.

The group, which includes 39-year-old Samrit Bunditkitsada, said: "We recognise that there have been slight delays in completing the takeover of Reading FC.

"But we'd like to thank the club, Vibrac and most importantly the fans for their patience and support.

"We now expect the takeover process to proceed as speedily as possible towards completion."

Getreading.co.uk understands that Bunditkitsada is now one of four equal investors who will take charge at Reading.

The Thai tycoon was due to take a majority stake in the club after his Asian consortium signed the sale and purchase agreement on a £25 million deal on Thursday, July 17.

But the set up of the consortium has now changed with a new sale and purchase agreement having been signed last week. It is now believed to include Bunditkitsada, Thai businesswoman Sasima Srivikorn and two as yet unnamed figures.

Srivikorn has held multiple high powered business positions back in her native Thailand, including being the chairman of the President Hotel and Tower Co. Ltd and also chairman of Thailand Carpet Manufacturing Co. Ltd.

The 76-year-old studied at the Guildhall College of music and drama in England before attending Havard University in the United States.

They don't even feature in the top 50 thais. (neither does Samrit).

And that goes down to $305m.

Is there actually any money in this consortium?

10539.4 Miles Away
Lacoste
10539.4 Miles Away Would that be the deadline, the extended deadline or the re-extended deadline?

(Its option 3 if my info is correct)

Your info is never correct

10539.4 Miles Away Ok, our elderly thai lady in question is Khunying Sasima Srivikorn.

Done a fair bit of research after I heard the name and can see that yes, she has some money but for the life of me I cant see the connection to football. I have a really bad feeling about this thai connection now. I really hope I am wrong.

Indeed you did. :)
No doubt there will be someone along very soon to rubbish your post as a lucky guess...

Administration here we come!
Why don't clubs learn that the only reason most foreign investors look into buying medium sized clubs is to move money out of their country. For some it's a tax dodge, others are due to unrest in their homeland.
This group had probably never even heard of Reading 'til now. I'll bet they couldn't point at it on a map of the UK!
If Anton hadn't bought the club, we wouldn't have signed Roberts or Pog. Imagine the wages saved. I accept that we would have never got promoted with Roberts, but we was out of our league. The long term damage done by foreign investors will cause clubs like our to fold.
AFC Reading anyone?

Chronicle: Reading Pervert Arrested
A pervert was arrested today after taking pictures of a young woman working at Reading FC's megastore. The assailant claimed "I was only trying to take a picture of a dangerous looking corner on the edge of a display stand."
