Wall of Embarrassment

by SPARTA » 14 Aug 2014 15:47

@ReadingFC
Wigs, jester hats & face paint will be available in the Megastore - and a face painter will be at the Fun Zone for the game. #WallOfColour

They just love to embarrass this club! :roll:

Are RFC so cynical and desperate for money that everything they do is aimed at encouraging young scrotes to show up and spend a shedload of cash :?: Don't get me wrong, I absolutely detest children but I can't believe that even they are so stupid and lacking in attention span as to crave a pantomime atmosphere every week :?: When I first got into wanting to go to football I was excited enough just by the spectacle of the game, they didn't have to offer sideshows and freebies :!: How about doing something for the older supporters for once, free pint of beer to oil your vocal chords and injecting some much needed noise into the place :?: No wonder long-time supporters are leaving in their droves, who wants to sit and watch dreadful football in what amounts to a creche :!:

FAO RFC: twirling a £6.99 scarf above your head before kick off does not equate to atmosphere (and with it, a semblance of enjoyment).

I agree with most of what you say, but not the big I've highlighted.

What have you got to substantiate your comment that long-time supporters are leaving in large numbers? I know for certain that HNA? is definitely not indicative of the overall feeling about the club. I haven't seen stats in attendances that show a massive decline in support, in fact it's the opposite. Relative to league status, we've got a bigger fan base haven't we?

Floyd always misrepresents things for effect.

There is no age restriction on face painting, despite what he implies.

Heh. Is there an age limit on bouncy castles? I like those. Everyone likes a bouncy castle. I like them in an non-Op Y way. In fact, I'd take 90 mins on a bouncy castle over watching Reading any day. Though as Pie Eater rightly suggests, I am not sure I'd last that long (*fnerrrr*)

The 'leaving in their droves' thing was an attempt at cross-over humour from AE. Joking aside, I am well aware that these things are cylical.....as one person bins off going, someone else gets the bug and becomes a regular to take their place.

It was more a retaliatory and flippant comment to the above, I'm not far off that myself :oops:

Just read that the #WallofColour campaign is a Football League-wide camapign. So everyone gets to look a twerp, not just our lot.

I therefore apologise unreservedly to Craig MZ and his team.

Enjoy yourselves :!:
