Group C

After the round-robin group phase, the top two teams from each section will qualify for the quarter-finals along with the two best third-placed teams, at which point the tournament takes on a standard knockout format before the final on 4 July

So 8 out of 12 teams get to the knockout phase. That's what you get in a Confederation with only 10 members.

Wouldn't it be better to not have Mexico and Jamaica competing and have 2 groups of 5 with the top 2 progressing to the semis?

Or are they just pissed off with constantly playing the same 9 teams in an endless cycle of World Cup Qualifiers and the Copa America and trying to mix it up a bit?

Jamaica in the Copa America? Nah, don't look right.

Chile the dark horses (of sorts).

Uruguay 1-0 Jamaica

One wonders what sort of break Hector and McLeary will get this summer. Presuming that Jamaica only last 2/3 games by the time they get back from over there I can't see either having more than a week at most before jetting off to to the other side of the world in Thailand.

Oh and the FIFA debacle continues here as well as CONMEBOL have had their diplomatic immunity status revoked from their HQ in Paraguay (yes a football authority had diplomatic immunity!!!)

Messi gets player of the tournament, tells them he doesnt want it and so just before they start giving out trophies they had to take that one down off the stage and officially there was no player of the tournament

That annoys me. Just because Messi is playing, the people in charge of the decision just pick Messi. He looked bemused when he received it for the World Cup as well. Fair play to him to turn it down.
