I was thinking more of Keith Gillespie, Paul Dickov and Frank Sinclair getting arrested in Spain on suspicion of a serious sexual assault.

And subsequently cleared.

I accept that, there's very clear differences between that incident and this current one but it was meant more a comment on footballers' remarkable ability to put themselves in these sorts of positions in the first place. It's remarkable how the same names crop up time and time again. Wasn't Frank Sinclair one of the Chelsea players abusing Americans at Heathrow in the aftermath of 9/11? I suppose it's no surprise though that a percentage of footballers have too much money, too much time on their hands and too few working brain cells

Aside from the racism and appalling way they apparently treated them, what is it with footballers and wanting their mates to join in with them having sex?

It was never really my thing either, but I know plenty of lads who did the same kind of thing when in their 20's.

I guess within football though it becomes part of the culture and the pack mentality of being in a changing room, and of course they have the opportunities to do it whereas Joe Average might not get them in such quantities.

Because they can afford ver quick sports cars that they want to show off.
