Better than most players we've had in the past 3 seasons, but not a stand out in the squad thus far, and as others have said, right now too lightweight and a bit of a bottler in the 50/50's..

Does have skills - I think he'll come very good with the guidance from Clarke. ( and lets not underestimate how good Clarke appears to be managing players)

Voted yes

He's a player who needs a bit of coaching and direction to improve his game and apply the skills and talent he has, probably the very reasons for him being out on loan to us in the first place.

Whore Jackie Underwhelmed thus far. Off the three Chelsea loanees we've had since Clarke too over, only Ake has made the grade IMO. Chalobah took a fair while to get to grips with the Championship and his form petered out towards the end of his loan spell.

What about Hector?

Chalobah was only ever any good in the cups. At the time, I said Aké wasn't good enough and shouldn't be playing ahead of Tshibola - think I've been proven right on that front.

On topic, I think Piazon's a decent player, but we shouldn't use him in midfield. He doesn't do his part defensively. Stick him on the left wing. However, if we say Blackman and Sa have to be the other two forwards, then I'd have Piazon behind Vydra, McCleary, Robson-Kanu, Stacey, Fosu, and, at least for now, Hurtado and John.

Bizarre signing.

Nameless Not sure if he hasn't played well he can be described as a good player !
Forme he's shown little bursts but that's not what is required.
If he puts in a solid 90 minutes of effort and involvement to add to the moments of skill the he'll be a good player.
Otherwise he's not one of the best 11. But time will tell and I don't think we need to judge him this early.

You can still be a good player without demonstrating it, just as one can be good at anything without doing it well all the time.

He was a huge success at Vitesse, but the Eredevisie is a worse standard than Bundesliga and the Championship. Not just that but it's a different style of football. There isn't quite the midfield battle as in the Bundesliga - which somewhat mirrors the English game, though not to a such an extent. It's possibly why he didn't really do it at Frankfurt and why he's struggling in a midfield role here. One has to remember that he's still only 21 and will be maturing and learning every game, especially under the tutelage of Clarke.

He's one of the most naturally gifted and talented footballers we've ever had at Reading and it's testament to how well we are doing that people are complaining about him.

Only if you're very generous with the meaning of "one of the most".

Just read a thread on the Frankfurt message board (in German - can post link for anyone interested) and found very similar complaints about him - i.e. lightweight and going missing in games a lot .... so not much improvement by the sound of it. Still he is young and as others have said with SC's help he may yet improve ...

He's still young and has bags of potential, Does he have the ability to win a game with one piece of skill? Absolutely but i just don't see him dominating a game and being an absolute go to player. Would he get in the team with Vydra fit? Not a chance.

I would rate him somewhere between Vydra and Akpan.

Ake "not good enough for the Championship" but has played 5 times this season for Premiership club Watford.

That was the point, he's young and inconsistent, Difficult to "rate" a player when you don't know which Lucas Piazon is going to turn up from match to match. He has to contend with an unfair amount of hype but he's nowhere near a regular starter in the first eleven on overall form.

His ability to read the game is way off - the ref on Saturday had more luck being where the ball was.

But on the plus side, he isn't HRK.

With the injuries / lack of match fitness at the moment. Who should get the nod ahead of Piazon?

Personally I'm struggling. As has both created and scored goals. A good reason to keep a player in the team in my opinion.

It's not so much ahead of him, as it is I'd rather play with an extra genuine midfielder in Tshibola preferably, or maybe Fernandez and three attacking players. Rather than two midfielders with four attacking players.

Remember it was the Norwood, Quinn & Williams / Tshibola and Blackman, Sa & Vydra / HRK combinations that played in our two biggest wins against Ipswich and Brentford.

Tish back into midfield with Norwood and Williams, Piazon up top on the left until Vydra is match fit.

Tish was rested totally last night. Game a week is probably enough. Long way to go yet.

Still early days. but looking like one of our worse loan signings ever. admittedly he`s got a couple of goals, but he is so bloody lightweight and couldn`t fight is way out of a paper bag. I was excited when we took him on. but damn if he doesn`t improve, and fast ship him off back to Chelsea, he will be at home with that shower of shit.

2 assists and 2 goals so far. If he continues that sort of ratio for the rest of the season that would be fantastic, even if his overall performances aren't brilliant right now.

Maybe a flair player but from what I have seen has no guts and will to work hard and win for the team. Petulant and pampered I think. As much a liability through his lack of any defensive contribution, I'm sure he has cost us as many goals as provided. Needs grafters behind him so he can take the glory, a bad loan signing and not good for the club/ team. Admit I voted no In the poll, not a fan at the moment
