Winston Biscuit Huesca up to the top division in Spain for the very first time. Stadium holds just 5500 fans and they have spent most of their history in the 3rd & 4th division.

Reminds of an interesting* story that came out last week, Holstein Kiel could have been promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in their history (they lost the play-off to Wolfsburg) but were told they would only be allowed to play if they moved stadium as their ground only holds 12500. Bundesliga apparently demands that a stadium has a minimum capacity of 15k.

Did not go down well with football fans across Germany with people pointing out that clubs like Bournemouth, Eibar and now Huesca have no problem playing in stadiums smaller than 15k.

I am going to support Huesca from now on, buy a shirt and go to a game for sure

Ajaccio win the League 2 play off so now go to the 2 legged final against a team in League 1 to see who plays in league 1 next season.

La Havre bus was attacked prior to the match resulting in the game being postponed for 48 hours.

When it went ahead it was a feisty affair. With the game at 1-1 and extra time being played, on 108 minutes an Ajaccio player shoved the referee, the ref sent the player off and because the incident was in the penalty area he correctly awarded a penalty to Le Havre. Le Havre score the penalty and the player celebrates, Ajaccio players take umbrage and pile in on him, once the melee ends 2 Le Havre players are shown a red card as is another Ajaccio player, the Ajaccio manager is sent to the stands and the Le Havre president gets kicked by a fan in the stands as trouble is sparked off.

At 9 players each the game enters injury time in extra time and on 125 minuted Ajaccio score an equaliser taking the game to penalties. The Ajaccio manager re enters the pitch for the pre penalties pep talk but the officials don't notice. The Ajaccio president stands behind the goal while Le Havre take their penalties trying to put them off.

Ajaccio win on penalties.

Aves beat Sporting Lisbon to win the Portuguese cup for the first time after being promoted to the top division last year.

It's confirmed after that due to an admin error Aves didn't register themselves to be able to compete in European competitions and so they cannot take the Europa League place on offer.

They lost that home game 3-0 to Toulouse last night. 2nd leg on Sunday but likely to be a formality now.

Stuff like this is silly. It shouldn't be beyond UEFA's wit to quickly help Aves put the paperwork in place.

Generaly agree, they should be there to support and empower football clubs and leagues, not just enforce rules. I think they do it because UEFA run checks on clubs to make sure finances etc are good enough to give them a license to compete. Maybe they feel applying now is too short notice to do the work

I believe Rio Ave will take their place as they finished 5th in the league. Nice for them.

Serie B play offs postponed by a week as Bari are investigated for financial irregularities.

Max punishment reported as 2 point deduction which would impact play off schedule

Seems that (shock!) PSG over-valued their sponsorships as a means of affording the signing Neymar and Mbappe under FFP rules .
If UEFA want FFP to mean anything, they need to properly sanction PSG, not least as a second offence (they were fined €60m in 2014).

all sorts of rumours flying around about what the sanctions might be. Most seem to suggest that AC Milan will be banned from Europe for a while and PSG will get some kind of transfer window ban but it's whether PSG have points docked that could be most interesting

Marseille surprise me. Other than Payet they can't have spent too much surely?

Only 'proper' sanctions will work. What punishment is a transfer window ban is PSG have used a previous one to sign £300m worth of players? It's almost a price worth paying.

UEFA need to get serious on FFP if it is to matter at all. A 3 year transfer ban. A ban from European competition for the same time period.

They seen to have spent a fair amount overall but brought in quite a bit from the sale of Batshuayi so yeah, no idea what that is all about tbh

According to the French sports daily L'Équipe, the difference between revenue and expenditure over the last three years is more than the allowed € 30 million.

However, the exceedance should be in the single-digit million range,

Things have gone a bit batshit crazy at Sporting Lisbon since the attack on their training ground.

Bas Dost, William Carvalho, Gelson Martins, and Bruno Fernandes have all terminated their contracts. Rui Patricio and Daniel Podence have already left, and manager Jorge Jesus has upped sticks to Al-Hilal.

Result of FFP hearing on AC Milan expected this week. Italian media say they expect a European ban and many of their players are already being touted around as Milans big spending last summer was a gamble on getting CL football so they are now in a mess and need to recoup money asap

Bonucci on the cheap anyone?
