NathStPaul Why would they need him? They can do a lot better and already have better in similar positions.

Think Forest would be a more likely destination or any of the relegated Premier League sides. Don't think him playing in the Premier League next season is a given.

I thought he was heading to Leeds ?

He's been heading to Leeds for about 4 years now, can't see it personally. Can definitely see him in a Norwich shirt.

He’ll not want to move to a Championship club. He’ll rightly think he deserves a crack at the PL.

Stranded 3 pts in it then.

Forest play Swansea next. Bournemouth head to Blackburn.

Muff have a horrible run in. Fancy Forest....

Prefer a smooth run in tbh.

paultheroyal If they dont go up it will definitely be the beginning of the end for them. Better players will leave, they will have to buy, no guarantee's and will become also rans. Crowds dwindle and be approaching a Reading FC situation in a couple of years.

FFP will soon be an issue too.

AFC Bournemouth released their latest results (up to 30th June 2021) at the end of March.

"The statements cover a year in which the club was relegated from the Premier League to the EFL Championship. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the delayed 2019/20 season meant that the club played seven games in the Premier League in the 2020/21 financial year before being relegated and playing a full season in the Championship.

The club recorded a profit before taxation of £17.0m (2020: loss of £60.1m) mainly as a result of the profits realised from player trading. The directors consider the financial position of the Company to be satisfactory at 30 June 2021.

Turnover was down by £23.7m to £71.7m (2020: £95.4m). This decrease is mainly due to the impact of Covid-19 and relegation from the Premier League. Furthermore, the vast majority of games being behind-closed-doors meant no ticket sales or hospitality income and catering receipts, lower commercial revenue and no matchday footfall through the Club’s Superstore. Losses were reduced through the successful business interruption insurance claim of £2.5m relating to the Covid pandemic, and costs relating to football player and team management wages also decreased.

Total staff costs decreased to £57.4m (2020: £107.9m) as higher paid players were sold, some contracts were not renewed and relegation clauses in contracts further lowered the wages of remaining players.

The Club recorded an operating profit of £23.6m (2020: loss of £51.9m) which included a gain in respects of player sales totalling £55.8m (2020: £22.9m)."

Those expecting Bournemouth to get hammered by FFP are deluded; Bournemouth are in a far stronger financial position than we are and appear to have been managed very astutely.

Fulham fans were very confident of smashing our points record too. Just goes to show how good our side really were that season.

No-one's really come close, have they? The only side with a sniff has been Leicester and that was the team that won the Premier League two years later. Newcastle in 2010 as well maybe.

Everyone was creaming themselves over Wolves as well, and some still say they were the best Championship side to date. Absolute nonsense. Just the usual football snobbery.

Don't dislike Forest, but their constant mentions of 'the world-famous City Ground' is properly lame. Cooper's done a really good job there, would absolutely love it if Bournemouth somehow conspire to screw it up. Huge amount of pressure on Scott Parker.

They will beat the 99 goals we scored in the 106 season, though our GD of +68 is harder for them (despite all those 7-0 wins!).

The big difference is in loses; we had 2 whilst they already have 9. Put into perspective, in our 106 season, Sheff Utd only lost 8 times, Watford (PO winners) 9 and Preston in 4th incredibly only lost 6 times (they drew 20 games!!!).

If they fail to win both their remaining 2 games they will end up on at best 91 points - fewer than Sheff Utd got in finishing 14 points behind us!

You're right and it makes a mockery of the system as their owner was able to plough his own money in before the rules stopped it and they then had assets to sell. You could almost say he'd somehow washed the money he put in

2 of those 6 defeats were to us as well (maybe unsurprisingly).

It’s a win win for me… laugh at Bournemouth snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in one of the worst chokes ever, or watch Forest miss out after getting so close. Anyone under the age of 25 won’t remember the last time Forest were in the Premier League, but they will Bournemouth, Wigan, Reading, Blackpool, Brentford, Huddersfield, Swansea, Cardiff, Hull City, being there

Luton to win the play offs please to complete the dream ending!

Skim read but they’ve lost 27m in the last two years combined (so can only lose 12m next year) and only made a profit this year as they sold 55m of players? Doesn’t sound that strong to me.

Didn’t they lose an absolute ton of money in 2019 as well?

Though in fairness they’d still pull in a decent whack for Solanke and maybe Billing so they’d survive - just have to lose more of their decent players

He’ll not want to move to a Championship club. He’ll rightly think he deserves a crack at the PL.

He will if its a club with a good chance of promotion who can afford to match his current salary, if he doesn’t get any serious PL offers.

We don’t fit any of those criteria, in fact he's now one of our highest earners so moving him on (or cutting his salary in half) is a must for us.

You agree with me then. He’ll want a PL move.
Obviously if no PL clubs offer him a deal a Championship club with at least a Chance off competing for promotion ( perhaps Bournemouth) would be the next option.

He will certainly want a PL move. He’s 27 this summer. If it doesn’t happen this summer then the clock starts ticking. He deserves a crack at the top flight and hope he gets it.

I live in Newark and their fans are by and large decent. There's a mix of Forest and Derby fans round here with none of the Man U/London stuff in the south (Reading and Sussex) which I like.

Like us and 106 though in a way, we harp on about it on line every year and quite honestly winning the European Cup twice is a way bigger achievement....

And re the City Ground at least they've not sold their ground name when they were skint....

No, it’s not !
Plenty of teams have won 2 European cups. Madrid have won 13 ...
No one else has got 106 points, we are unique.

Get this argument in a way but Madrid and co are world giants, Forest aren't.

Say if we'd won at Blackburn last game 2006/7 and won the UEFA cup next season i would regard that as a way bigger achievement than 106
