How are Swansea fairing up in pre-season. Same manager and core players? If they develop a Plan B coupled with the performance they put in against us at our place, i think they could be strong challengers.

Yeah I thought Swansea were more on the up really. To be fair, it's only a Fifa simulation and whilst I'd love for our position to be true, I'd take it with less than a pinch of salt.

Has Yorkshire Royal been using FIFA simulations all this time? It explains a lot if so.

Strong talk of Luton as well. Excellent season for them, not lost anyone and strengthened, this true?

Luton did well because they took people by surprise last season. I will be stunned if they are anywhere near the top 6.

 Sorry wrong thread, I saw something about a Fifa simulation saying Swansea were relegated and we finished 15th, thought it was this one, my bad.

But I like the pointless dig, again.

The one where they crumbled under the merest bit of pressure to throw away a 3 goal lead?

Yep definitely need a different plan to that one

They were decent and played excellent football. Top team in there.

My memory of Swansea last season is that they were pretty poor for much of it, then found a bit of form in March before falling off a cliff late on. Definitely one of the teams in the conversation about who could be dragged into the relegation battle.

This would suggest I'm not significantly mistaken.

From March through until the end of the season, their record was W5, D5, L4, definitely mid table form really, just had a spell where they didn't lose for a while, 9 games unbeaten but with 5 draws in that spell.

They were pretty below average before that though and were languishing in the bottom half of the table for pretty much the rest of the season barring 5 games during games 16 through to 20 where they were in the top half.

As you say, could easily get dragged in. Another one of those teams where if they lose their best players, they could easily be in trouble. I think they've bought pretty well and look as if they will end up keeping hold of Piroe, so they should be ok.

With regard to them being dragged in, I was talking about last season. I think they and Hull started to hit a bit of form at the same time

Their transfer business hasn't been that spectacular. 2 keepers, 2 midfielders and 1 defender out, 3 defenders and Joe Allen in.

I think they'll be safe but they're a mid table team at best IMO.

Played like Brazil for 20 mins and were average to poor for the rest of it I thought, once we’d decided to get stuck in rather than stand and admire

There used to be a really reliable system one of the papers used to use, but I forget what it was. It used quite a lot of stats driven analysis.

It's not that Super Computer is it that gets referenced at major points in every season?

Birmingham soon-to-be new owners will meet John Eustace today to discuss his future.

Eustace was only appointed two weeks ago, but that was when Bassini takeover was thought to be imminent.

It’s unclear if he’s part of future plans.
