Orion1871 Gutted.

Truly the end of the road and the final slap in the face to all those who built the club up so successfully in the Sir John era.

All that good work finally undone once and for all. Leaving us right back where we started.

TBH I feel for all those dedicated souls who will lose their jobs at the club, in whatever capacity. They, whoever 'they' are, say that everything happens for a reason. So I was talking to a bloke earlier about the situation and he said 'Are you relegated yet?' To which I gave him the obvious answer. He replied 'Believe then'. I smiled and said 'Yes mate' whilst in my head thinking 'Are you oxf*rd deluded or what?'

IN for some new grounds but think we could well struggle. Would sooner bet us dropping again than getting promoted first time.

My cousin supports Ipswich and said the new grounds were good first year but after that it's shit

Winston Biscuit I don't think there is any reset if we go down. Just hope we get back to winning more games than we lose so at least people enjoying their day out at the football

I think we'll get beat lots in league one

genome Not happy, not devastated. I don't subscribe to the "this will kill the club" option, but it's going to be a few years before we're back.

4 seasons, for me. Then hopefully back with a better footing.

Yeah probs the same for me. If we can avoid finishing in the bottom half of L1 on our 1st season down then I think that's decent enough and would hopefully give us a platform to work from

I think if you have a look at Derby, who were a much bigger basket case than us upon relegation, they're fighting for the playoffs this year. I'd be pretty happy with that.

If we win more games in L1 than we have been in recent seasons in the Champ then some may see that as a mor le enjoyable fan experience

Yep. Ipswich also a good example of getting some stability and building on it. Now in their 4th season down there. 3 seasons in the top half and now pushing for promotion

Ipswich another club bigger than Reading, with a more passionate and invested fanbase supporting them.

I think we will be in League 1 next season. I also think that we will be in League 2, or lower, before (if) we return to the Championship. That is, of course, if Dai doesn't let the club go to the wall instead. That to me is a real probability as he won't have any hope of selling the club.

I think on reflection it’s not the relegation that’s the fear it’s how we are as a club in L1.

IF, big IF, if we can maintain top ten maybe even be around 6th then I don’t fear it at all as that would be a nice change to the years if dross we have all endured even if it’s in a lower league but not relegation it’s self but my fear is year after year of mid table to lower table dross L1

Basingstoke Town champions today. That has softened the blow about Reading FC. Gives us a dilemma to think about next season on where to get a season ticket and away games.

Gutted with our predicament but todays excitement in non league has helped the pain.
