Mid Sussex Royal Some so called journo David Mason claims Hunt has been sacked this evening with an announcement later or tomorrow. Never heard of him but claims he called Mbengue to QPR and Wareham to Exeter first.

I hope not. I don’t want to be the next Watford. He needs 8 games to get the squad sorted and then see where we are. If it is the same position then there will be no choice.
Even if Couhig did pull the trigger after that I hope Hint is kept on in a capacity at the club.
He does need his key players to step up though and we need to be backed with a striker in this window.

For balance, I was at the Lincoln game before Christmas last year. We lost, were poor and had 1 point from his first 3 games. We'd been outplayed by Blackpool and Lincoln, but Hunt's interviews infuriated us all by saying it wasn't that bad and blamed refs. Talk on here was whether we had enough points on the board to avoid relegation.

We then had a perfectly good 2nd half of the season with some good runs of results.

Football is a momentum game and maybe we just need a moment of luck to kick start us.

I can say that while simultaneously believing performances so far are serious cause for concern. I don't know how long you go on believing we can turn it around with a bit of good fortune and when you lose faith. It's the million dollar question for the money men to make. But we're obviously not there yet.

Getthebeerens Nah stick with Hunt, this team just needs time to gel.

Would be a bit silly to sign players for a manager and then give him just 4 games to get it right.

This. Losing three on the bounce is rubs, obvs. But let’s not devolve back to a revolving door philosophy when we have all witnessed what giving people time can do.

I think people forget that what is obvious to us armchair idiots (eg. Playing Fraser at DM) won’t have been overlooked by the professionals - Hunt might have a good reason for playing Fraser and Wing ‘the wrong way around’. And was Fraser really playing that far forward? I only listened on the radio, and I’m not really going to take google’s lineup graphic as hard evidence.

Couhig said at the Former Players Association thing that when he was buying Wycombe the selling agent said the "perceived wisdom" is that you sack a manager if they lose 6 in a row. He followed up by saying that was a stupid idea and a manager needs more time than that. So I doubt he's going to sack Hunty after 3 games.

I think he's playing an energetic defensive midfielder higher up to try and recreate Knibbs' pressing. But he's not Knibbs and it's a stupid idea that isn't working.

Yes Fraser played a long way forward, he was even attacking crosses into the box.

Always difficult and emotional when an ex player as manager is under pressure , nobody doubts his loyalty and enthusiasm but on the face of results and performances of league games so far, it appears he's struggling. That's reflected on the pitch with the players body language and having a go at each other very evident yesterday against Wimbledon

Ultimately he wasn't Couhig's choice as an owner and he probably wants a manager of his choice and choosing , I think it's just a matter of time before Gareth Ainsworth is our next manager.

Again at the Former Players Q&A evening, Couhig said that he has a list of three managers to replace Noel if Noel went anywhere else.

He said that, whilst he is still close with Ainsworth, Ainsworth isn't on that three-man list.

This is all perfectly OK. Noel has recruited under the strict rules of the Wycombe model. Have a reasonable expectation of what this means. He is trying to get a tune out of players that no one wants. The players concerned are no doubt trying their best, as is Noel. If we do get relegated, the Wycombe model will prevent us from going under. We will probably just use the East and South stands and that will keep costs down.
He may yet turn all of this around. Maybe he needs to tone down the blaming of luck and moments, while insisting that we controlled or dominated matches we have lost. We scored a goal and that in itself is progress. Wycombe are only one point ahead of us, and I doubt they are clamouring for the manager to be sacked. Bolton away will be more of a barometer for where we are at the moment. They are at home and will likely want to play a bit. Means that like the Portsmouth match, there will be grass to play into if they push on to us. The owners are not here because it is a vanity project, nor are they local men with an affiliation to the town. They have taken advantage of an opportunity to flip a quick buck on simply balancing the books, along with expectation. It is what it is.

Lane wouldn’t have been cheap. I doubt we’ve got Doyle, O Mahony for nothing either. Kelvin, Wing and JP will be on a decent wedge

We could have gone far more bargain basement

Definitely cooled down since yesterday but I'm sure this isn't the start anyone expected, even if they factored in that we might not hit the ground running.

When we have made good signings in the past, Brian Carey has been given the credit. Why is Noel now to blame for the not so impressive signings and not Brian? I assume he is still at the club.

Recruitment has been good. O'Connor and Lane have barely featured which is unlucky. Burns looks good but would benefit from an experienced partner. I'm surprised Jacob has struggled but perhaps with an experienced leader in the backline he'd do better. Fraser and Doyle are good options to sign, Kyerewaa has raw talent and we beat off good competition for O'Mahony.

I'd be critical of Hunt for not picking Doyle or Elliott yesterday which I've said too many times now. And I also don't really know what our attacking plan is or what patterns of play we're working on aside from Wing Hollywood passes. This also comes back to the manager for me.

Wimbledon yesterday were greater than the sum of their parts and were riding off the confident from promotion. We're currently less than the sum of ours. That is partly because of the volume of changes, but if it continues for another couple of months the manager can't blame recruitment.
