Gus the teenage cow It's simple, we have lost some very good players and the replacements have not been up to it.

It's early days but with one or two exceptions our recruitment looks haphazard, scatter-gunned and inadequate. There seems to be no over-arching plan as we desperately take whatever punt an agent puts in front of us.

We are not cohesive, we are simply trying to get deals done and hoping the player will fit in our team. There is no strategy. We just for what players are available rather than what players suit our existing squad or style of play.

In a word, we are a rabble. We probably don't have one defender who is better than average on the ball.

In a word, we are Wycombe. Now everything makes sense. This is indeed a spectacular window.

Hound I reckon we had as many in our 18 from last season as most teams in this division tbh. He chose not to include Dorsett and Rushesha who played last year as well

Not discounting that Mbengue, Bindon and Knibbs were huge losses though

The worrying thing is just how disjointed we look coming forward. Individual mistakes is one thing but we need to work extremely hard now to get some creativity into our forward play. Hunt seems a little confused as to how he wants the team set up

The really worrying thing is after 4 games, there is zero idea what our team identity is. That and Hunt's seeming inability to adjust to the actual game, as opposed to what he expects to happen. Criminal that no subs were made before 60 odd minutes, and his justification for not using Elliot is laughable.

We could easily sleepwalk into a real shitpit this season..

You clearly did not watch the Portsmouth away game when the team played very cohesively and looked excellent. You will not get consistent performances for a while with so many new players to bed in. Hunt is in a similar position to Selles in 2023 (as I said above) and it took Selles 16 games (the season turned round after league game 17). I think if Hunt is given the chance he will get things right quicker than that.

I did watch Portsmouth, which makes the 3 games flanking it even worse.

What is our primary style of play, our Plan A to win games? Do we even have a Plan B?

We've been behind in every league game, and the only change made before the 65th minute was forced by Wings injury..

I've seen this a lot, but I think it's obvious what Noel wants to do. Probably a bit too obvious.

The rest of it I agree with.

I think people need to stop comparing the centre of defence to last season.

Last season we had a Championship CB pairing. We can't expect to sign a Championship CB pairing in L1.

Not to mention our first choice CB and marquee signing is yet to play a minute ot League football for us.

It's one of those nothing criticisms you get when you're on a losing streak.

Hunt is not Seles. If he were, I wouldn’t be so concerned. Ask yourself this simple question. What sort of goal are we trying to score?

I’ve said similar in terms of the criticisms of our forwards. What goal are you expecting them to score? A header, one or one, pull back etc? I’ve no idea

The two Portsmouth goals were through balls of sorts that Kelvin ran onto. I haven’t seen a lot of us trying to get in behind in the league games. Maybe the defending has just been better than Portsmouths poor efforts

You could have asked exactly the same question of Selles.

I thought Selles was very slow to learn in 2023-24. He used the ridiculous 4-2-2-2 formation and stuck with it too long and fans were almost unanimously calling for his head after we led 2-0 at Shrewsbury before capitulating 2-3. Hunt on the other hand has had a much stronger start as manager. It was great that Selles learned from his errors and came good, but he was incredibly fortunate that he was not sacked. Fans have short memories.

Ping 50 yard balls to strikers who can't hold the ball up? Play it around the back until we lose it?

Launch attacks down both wings with no one in the middle to receive the ball?
