leon he's a massive self promoting twat - who pitches up at clubs who are the best/top two in the league with sh*t loads of cash and then f*cks off before he has a chance to fail.

Best manager of all time? Get a f*cking grip, you benders. Like to see him manage Wycombe for 10 years, with f*ck all to spend and having to clean the toilets himself on a Sunday.

Show me another manager, who hasn't lost a home game in 9 years.......

Take whoever you think is the "best manager ever" and put them in charge of Wycombe and i bet they too fail. Surely what makes a great manager is winning trophys and winning games - something Mourinho is good at. How come Porto haven't won the Champions League since he left? - How come Inter are struggling this season when they aren't much different to the side he left as Champions League winners?......

Well ok, maybe I'm an old romantic, but to me, fantastic though Mourinho's achievements undoubtedly are, winning trophies with teams put together on the back of massive spending whilst playing some pretty unadventurous football, doesn't measure up to the achievements of Stein, Clough, Shankly, Busby for e.g.

Nobody's right or wrong of course, just opinions.

But love him or hate him (I confess to both) the game thrives on characters / achievers like him.

AthleticoSpizz best manager of all time

except for the real special ones

Bill Shankley
Jock Stein
Sir Alf Ramsey
Charlie Hurley
etc etc

How many leagues in different nations have they won?
from a different era, back when foreign travel was mainly done during times of war lol.

The perception of being the special one is only as valid as the criteria that you percieve.

I can't believe that he hasn't suffered a single home defeat in all that time. Absolutely astonishing level of consistency.

A comparison of Inter under Mourinho with that of this season (having strengthened the squad) would at least suggest he's a much better coach than Benitez, if nothing else.

leon oh and also he's a LYING C*NT...

+1 to that bit. However much of twat he is, his managerial credentials cannot be argued.

Can I just say "Oh dear".

He's a football manager, not a murderer.

It's always difficult to compare across era's, and pretty much a waste of time, but the one thing that Mourinho hasn't done is build a lasting dynasty at a club.

He also hasn't rebuilt one of his own teams because he runs or gets the sack after such a short time. Part of being a great manager is, in my opinion, building a club and building a succession of good sides that evolve into each other (in much the way that Fergie has done). Again, that might be an old fashioned view of things in the current disposalble and instant society, but I think it's a more difficult job and therefor greater achievement to sustain success than to grasp it initially.

You can't argue with Mourinho's short term successes though. He has an incredible record really, especially for such a c*nt.

I would be surprised if that happens because of the way he was booted out of Chelsea and I can't see Abramovich changing his ways.

I just think he's waiting for the "perfect club" before he settles down and does that............to me, i reckon he's holding out for the Man Utd job

You may well be right TBM, I'm not sure his style really lends itself to the kind of longevity I'm thinking of though. I get the impression he's a bit too abrasive and cock-sure to build up the right relationships with the power that be to every last long.

It seems that any drama becomes a crisis with him and he doesn't like to be told what to do in any way shape or form so I think he's always just round the corner from the next big row.

The Man Utd thing is interesting, and there's always talk of it. I think he's courting the club and doing a good job at it (he always makes little comments about, and sat in an empty Old Trafford lapping up the atmosphere etc) but I've also heard comments from the journalists who are supposedly close to the club that their a bit put off by his crassness and general behaviour.

It would be an interesting move though.

Carlo isn't going to Roma. Montella has taken over there.
