The last 2 World Cups have been dire on the pitch. Still feel they have a better atmosphere around them though; more of an occasion and fans from all over the world joining in the big party.

On the pitch, the Euros are typically better. 2008 had some great games; watching Arshavin demolish the Dutch (who had been brilliant until then) was a great evening. Do teams possibly play with a little more freedom too? As it's less of an occasion? Obviously it's still a big deal, but I can't forget the dire first round of fixtures in 2010 where everybody was simply too scared of losing.

Also with the top 3 sides in the World competing in EURO 2010, you have to think there should be some pretty high quality football on display. Although Greece are there too...

For me the WC has more romance, passion and vibrancy, and is without doubt a bigger occasion, and as an England fan - winning WC > winning EURO.

Personally, I am incredibly excited about a WC in Brazil, and will definitely go...can't say the same for Ukraine & Poland!

Defo the Euros, because of the quality that comes with only having 16 teams. Shame that EUFA have bowed to the TV money and gone to 24 like FIFA did in 82. It will be 32 before long, so we could be seeing Moldova and Scotland in the finals.

I loved the 84 finals and there were plenty of games to watch although I seem to remember only highlights of the epic France v Portugal semi. France were magnificent; a dream midfield of Platini, Giresse, Fernandez, Tigana (what an engine he had). Platini scored NINE goals in five games, including two hat-tricks  I backed them in 82 (WC), 84, 86 (WC) and they should have won all three.
