Ian Royal ...Reading Stewards are not the worst...

There is no club in the country which gives their own fans as much grief as Reading give their own. Reading's stewards are dictated to by that cretin Clive Doyle, the very same man who said "we don't want confrontation today, a laid back approach is required" on the day 3500 Cardiff fans came to town. The man has very little idea about how to police a football crowd, and he is a major part of the problem we have at Reading IMO.

Get real Handbags, just like with the argument of how well the team are playing, your being at all of these games and grounds experiencing the stewarding personally, doesn't compare to Ian Royal's knowledge derived from his armchair and radio.

Yeah, whatever. Handbags clearly has massive experience of all other clubs stewards through out the course of the season.

be a prick or stand up in a small group. expect hassle.

If that's a thinly veiled dig at me being a bit of a deliberate trouble maker in a football ground, then you can hardly be further than the truth, as I'm sure others will testify.

Dirk Gently
- the majority of action against visiting supporters happens in the concourses rather than the stands (for instance when the targeted people go for a drink or a p*ss), so the perception that no action is taken is not correct.

The club keep saying this, but refuse to say exactly how many away fans were ejected from the concourse. Until I see some verifiable figures, I'll continue to evaluate on the evidence of my own eyes, which is that away fans are treated with kid gloves.

Dirk Gently It really is a question of strength of numbers - if a club can persuade their local FLA rep that they'll be unable to prevent standing then the stewarding emphasis changes to keeping aisles and exist clear, instead of trying to stop people standing.

Which we don't have at Reading. The vast majority of Reading fans seem to want to sit, which I find really odd given that just over a decade ago, the vast majority of Reading fans stood at every home game.

So how many of the other 91 pro grounds have you been to as a home fan, to be able to judge?

You might not have heard such complaints from other clubs' fans, but how many of them have heard of ours?

^^ a fair few, and even more as an away fan where you can witness the home fans being allowed to stand and being able to leave the stadium totally unencumbered by the accomodation of the away fans.

Nothing of the sort handbags. I've seen you at a few away games and I've never thought of you as a prick. A little quiz machine obsessed maybe....

Undoubtedly, perhaps quiz machines and booze not the best way to go about it though. But as long as you enjoy yourself.
