15,914 V Scunthorpe.

Not great for an opening day game.

On the contrary, I'd say that's a good attendance bearing in mind how many people are on holiday

We've only sold 11,000 STs
Scunny must've had 7-800 fans max

So I make that 4,000 customers buying a single ticket for the game, which is about what it's always been at this level - this is still assuming that 100% of the 11,000 STH's turned up

Good attendance IMO for reasons stated above. If we played Forest, Cardiff etc it would of been around 19,000 and everyone raving about it.

... or just over 17,000.

Forest brought about 2,000 more than scunny, so even fewer Reading fans showed up this week.

Pea,

Gate Saturday was about 1,300 up on Scunthorpe. Forest brought about 2,000 more than Scunny. So about 700 fewer RFC fans Saturday. Surprising. I'd have thought Forest would be a bigger draw. Perhaps the 'pay on the day' fans deem £27 too much for the quality that's been dished up so far?

A- its probably best to wait till a few games in, and get past the summer holidays to judge the attendances, and B:
it wouldnt really be a shocker if we lost a few fans, espcially with all the "where has all the money gone"ing, and "why arent we buying anyone"ing going on

No doubt about it. Professional football over here is generally ridiculously overpriced especially with the 'quality' on show. £27 to watch federici, Long and co. No Fanks.

Watch us lose even more if we can't manage to hang on to all of our remaining few 'stars' in this transfer window.

really?

1stly- is that going to happen?- all the evidence so far has shown us to be getting rid of the over payed and under performers, along with those we wont miss. while keeping every one we need.
if it starts happening then fair enough, but it hasnt.

2ndly- before the 106 season, for many seasons we had alot of average players, and some more than indifferent results, dropping down to the 1st div.
we managed to survive without haemoraging all our fans, and i still very much enjoyed those seasons

Didn't we average fewer than 8,000 in the pants-day season in div 1.

There have been top flight games with attendances of 7000.

For example, Chelsea v Soton, 1st Division in 1992.
