League Cup - 4th round

by TBM » 27 Oct 2010 19:59

So we have Man Utd, Brum, West Brom, Ipswich and Wigan through

Tonight is
Newcastle v Arsenal
Villa v Burnley
West Ham v Stoke

The way this Newcastle Arsenal game has started its either gonna be a thumping by Arsenal or they will dominate for 89mins and Newcastle grab the only goal of the game to win 1-0.

Hopefully until they're relegated.

Arsenals 2nd shouldn't have counted IMHO - great finish though by Walcott

Went to watch Wigan vs Swansea the other night, Rodgers has Swansea playing really good football. They were easily the better side but a few minutes of premier league class showed wigans strength. Hell of a trek though, traffic with the Wolves fans coming back was a nightmare.

Swansea have ALWAYS played good football (for the last 4 or so years anyway). Rodgers has INHERITED a fantastic footballing side, the only credit he can have is signing Scott Sinclair.

Lots of out fans complaining that too many regulars were dropped for this but it had been the same in earlier rounds.

'Big watch' has been fortunate to get the gig, but, Sinclair, what a signing especially at that price. He wouldn't be there if it wasn't for Rodgers and he could be one of the final cogs...

Leww - presume the fans gave Martinez some stick? Think we had just under 5k there.

As the last two of the so called big Clubs left in do people want Manchester United and Arsenal drawn together or kept apart in the quarter finals ? What final would people like to see ?

Swansea is the perfect team for Rodgers - the style of play he wants was too much for us (Reading) but the fact Swansea were there anyway meant they appointed the best person and he took the right job.

Believe he was 3/4th in line, certainly behind Tisdale & Speed

It's working at le moment. Would, ideally, like a playoff place this year then go for auto next season with a relatively sh*t hot striker providing we don't lose any players. Just don't have the $$$ for the Prem.

^greed and that debate will go on for eternity on the Team board. However, I firmly believe that keeping Sidders and 1-2 more additions would've extended the stay a little further.

Yep and Gomez, most of the Judas chants were used etcc

Nearly 5k for Swans and the attendance was 11k.
