No Fixed Abode Have you ever deleted someone as a friend on Facebook for mocking your team even if you're mature enough to not be so gay?

No Fixed Abode Does it make or break your weekend? Not anymore
Do you not care so much now that you're older? Its not an age thing; its a "More things that are important in life" thing.
Have you ever deleted someone as a friend on Facebook for mocking your team even if you're mature enough to not be so gay? I wouldn't have done that 10 years ago let alone now.

roadrunner It used to mean everything. Now I couldn't give a toss. That's largely because of all the greed in the game now.
roadrunner Also the frustrating lack of investment from the chairman when we finished 8th in the best league in the world.
roadrunner The money in the game has ruined it for me.

Tokyo Sex Whalecmonurz Would agree with the general sentiment that my interest in the game has waned in line with the mercenary approach of some of the world’s best players to their clubs – first one that springs to mind is Wayne Rooney effectively demanding £200,000 a week not to join Man City, which brings me on to Carlos Tevez refusing to do what he is fcuking told for a few hours a week, for £1m a month before tax. Pay in the game has grown exponentially, so it is now possible to become very wealthy at a very young age, without actually being a top level (say international) player.
I look at the US and the pay in Major League or the NBA dwarfs even some Premier League salaries – but the difference is that these athletes in the main treat their employers and fans with the utmost respect and perform their duties as ambassadors of their sport and team. There are very few such ambassadors in English football.
Wasn't it NBA players that showed their employers and fans respect by going on strike and missing the first few rounds of fixtures over pay deals?

Silver Fox My guess would actually be that someone off of here has delete him from faceyb for being nearly as tedious on there as he is on here

It used to. It used to mean everything. Now I couldn't give a toss.
That's largely because of all the greed in the game now. Our players that we felt we had a bond with and knew so well became very selfish. The way Shorey for example handled himself and couldn't give a toss in his final season here because we wanted to keep a hold of him. The way the players stropped about the pitch, moaning at one another, putting the blame elsewhere for their mistakes. Also the frustrating lack of investment from the chairman when we finished 8th in the best league in the world, a great opportunity to push on and establish ourselves in the top flight - wasted. Thrown away even.
I've not enjoyed football since. The bug isn't there any more. I go when I feel like it but I used to go because I couldn't miss a game. I'd think nothing of driving Leeds to Reading, Reading to Leeds twice a week. Now I'm 4 miles away and can't always be bothered to get the bus.
I just don't enjoy football any more. The money in the game has ruined it for me.
