That makes no sense at all, we get fined because the institution also loaned to others!

We'll, I'm certainly no legal Beagle, but having read the full statement, it seems to me that we've been a little bit unfortunate in that at the time we took the loan, we weren't breaking any regulations that had a direct effect on us. However, if you play with fire, you're going to get burned and we just have to take that on the chin.

All things considered, it's a rap on the knuckles and given where we could have been (administration), it's not too bad. Hopefully we can start to draw a line under things this summer and move on properly at the end of next season.

Given that we were fined because Vibrac were involved with 3 other clubs does that mean the other clubs have also been punished, or are the PL clubs allowed to do stuff like this ?

Why on earth do clubs need to borrow this money in the first place, laundering?

They certainly are - from section 6.3.1 of the full judgement: "in the season 2012/13 the Club had been in the Premier League and the transactions in question were not a breach of Premier League rules."

Of course, the Premier League's attitude towards financial management is well known to be exemplary.

So we have been fined for doing something which is only a problem if other clubs are doing it to, but is not something those other clubs are fined for ?
That is bizarre.

That's the League's costs; RFC will also have to pay the costs of the Football Disciplinary Commission itself, which weren't available when the decision was written up.

If you include the costs as part of the cost of the loan they are pretty insignificant...

How the f*ck can we be fined by the FL when at the time we took the loan we were in the PL, not the FL, and therefore were operating under PL rules which we were not in breach of? Or didn't we clear the debt quickly enough when we were relegated and therefore fell foul of FL rules at that point?

Is the fine suspended in the way that prison sentences are i.e. will be forgotten about if we remain good boys or have they just delayed the date that the club must pay it by?

It's all in the judgement.
It's suspended for 14 months subject to us not infringing again. It expires completely.
I suspect the people you mention were aware of the rules. Again read the judgement. It essentially says Vibrac were our only option for finance. I suspect the club knew they would get a minor slap on the wrist for a hilly technical infringement and decided the future of the club was worth 50k or so . Seems pretty reasonable and you should sometimes consider that those running the club are not idiots.

Is it possible that this fine is what the "90k fine" thread was all about? Adding up various expenses and suspended fines to get the quoted total?

So we repaid the loan or was it both loans when the new owners took over. So possibly not from the tv money forvthe Prem year, or the parachute payments for thebsecond loan.

And therefore is the bigger question. If somebody took out the load against future parachute payments then how come those payments didnt not pay it off and the Thai's ended up with the bill?
