Police said he was speeding and desperate for 3 points after last night's matchTheMaraudingDog Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo has been involved in a car crash.
The 23-year-old winger was driving his Ferrari through the tunnels beneath the runways at Manchester Airport when he crashed into a barrier.
The player was not injured in the collision, which happened on Wilmslow Road at about 1020 GMT.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said an investigation into the incident was under way.
The Portuguese international came on as a substitute for Manchester United in the 1-0 League Cup Semi Final defeat at Derby County on Wednesday evening.
