TBF Pearse and Doobies is doing a great job but a little sparrow told me that if Bikey plays another game the club will have to forfeit £100k of their prized pounds to his former club, Locomotion Moscow. I believe the former than the ladder.

Everyone I speak to ( well Reading fans anyway ) is asking the same question.

I'm start to think there must be a disciplinary issue or maybe he's one of those players that never looks good in training or maybe Coppell's just got a thing about the occasional mistakes that he makes. He seems to go on about it in interviews more than he needs to.
Not very helpful, sorry.

If he's fit he should start.

its probably simply that doobs and pearce have the shirts

and coppell would rather have cisse or brynn on the bench to cover both the midfield and defence as they give us more options

cant see mr bikey being to pleased with it though

but at least it will stop other clubs seeing him and knicking him for next season!

Nothing much has changed since the defence that let in 7 at Portsmouth all kept their shirts for the next match with Bikey never getting off the bench and most people on here blaming Gunnarsson :P

Having sat out most of our avoidable relegation and now much of this campaign, Bikey would have to be some kind of saint not to have had frank exchanges with a manager who has always shown too little respect for his ability.

Hang on in there, Andre, changes at the top could be just around the corner.

It is oxf*rd ridiculous that some people are still going on about Bikey. He is inconsistent, lazy, and has a suspect attitude. Pearce and Doobs meanwhile have been excellent recently (with the exception of Brizzle), and both give everything for the club.

Get over it, if Bikey was that good than Coppell would play him.

Leaving at the end of the season, I feel certain about it.

too much of a loose canon for team spririt, there is rarely smoke without fire, and surely if there was no problem he would at least be on the bench, especially as is a versatile player. i reckon he would be a impact sub at the very least.

Changes at the top WR, never bet on it, who knows what will occur, still 3rd is not too bad it is??

Coppell cut himself at training and Bikey couldn't resist the temptation to run over and throw the medic attending into Wiltshire.

Like many others, I'm of the view that league position may have little to do with our managers future beyond the end of the season.

And, with regard to some rather blinkered views above on our defence, Pearce and Doobs have both done well but their collective lack of pace has a big impact on the way the team plays, with our central midfield forced ever deeper to compensate for this deficiency.

Bikey is head and shoulders above any other central defender at this club and his absence alone is cause enough for this club to move forward with a new manager regardless of this seasons outcome.

Are we talking about the same player here?!

Bikey has been immense in most of the games he's played this season (and last), and has show none of those characteristics other than the home defeat to Southampton, when I'd agree he was somewhat lazy and looked a little uninterested.

I can't speak for what goes on behind closed doors, but I find it fascinating that he's not part of this team, and must be seen as fourth choice in the pecking order considering Ingimarsson's out also.

As a team, we look so much more dynamic when Andre the Giant plays. He's by far and away the best defender we have at this club, and I think many would agree with me. There have been times in the past when he has kept the likes of John Carew and Wayne Rooney quiet with little fuss, and add to that his goal threat from set-pieces and I feel his inclusion should be a definite one.

His goals, such as the brace at home to Birmingham last season, the opener in the 2-1 win against Doncaster, and the second to put the game out of sight away to Wolves have all been important, and it should also be noted than neither of the centre backs have been close to scoring this season (whilst wearing a Reading shirt anyway).

Any centre-back who somersaults when he scores gets my vote.

I'm not Bikey's biggest fan to be honest, but I do still find it a bit baffling as to why he's not been more involved.

I'm a bit untrusting of his concentration and application to defending, much like Coppell by the sounds of it, and whilst I think the 3 centre halfs that have played ahead of him have all done pretty well (and I'm especially pleased Pearce is getting a run in our team) I still think Bikey could strengthen the side.

The thing I find most odd is that I'm sure Coppell always used to have a proper defender on the bench at all times (my impression at least, might not be hard facts). Now he seems happy to have a make do utility player in Cisse or Gunnarsson on the bench to cover any defensive injuries. Just goes to show again how sometimes what Coppell says (prefering to have specialists in a given position) isn't always what he does (although I can see the logic in this example).

Reason he isn't playing is plain and simple.

We have the best defence in the division either with or without Bikey in it and at the moment he isn't in it, so it should only be when we start leaking goals or injury that it should be changed.

On a side note, there may be a small case to play him in midfield but I'm not sure that that really is a great option at the moment.

This may seem extreme but not if, like me, you see Bikey's absence last season as a major factor in our relegation.

Some of our best results in the last 2 seasons have come with Bikey in the side making big contributions yet STILL Coppell refuses to play him.

Andy Johnson can be added to the list of Premiership strikers Andre has had in his pocket and if it's a choice of keeping him or, the man whose refusal to play him has cost us so dear, the choice, for me anyway, grows easier by the day.

Would you not say that our defence without him hasn't done too bad?.... it is the best in the division for god sake.
