Bit harder to get noise out of a flag though.

Really? :|

But you can't laugh my boy. Chelsea fans week in week out spotted with itty bitty flags and cards and yes, RUMBLE STIX.

Sheffield United had Rumble Stix last week too. :|

What ever happened to passionate support and using your voices?

Bollocks, seen the Rumble Stix on a Sky home game!! And cards being held up that the club place on seats.

What the oxf*rd's a clapper? I've had clap from a slapper - it's nothing to do with that, is it?

I am sad to see this. Norwich did a card stunt on Monday which made no difference to their side. Brum gave out clappers at Xmas against us and they lost too.

If we lose on Sunday I shall blame it on the curse of the clappers....

If we can't raise the atmosphere on Sunday for the biggest game of the season we deserve to have our asses kicked out! This is American crud which will be a waste of money and world resources

Just to clarify and set expectations before too much misinformation spreads, yes the football club is organising "clapper banners" for the Birmingham match, and STAR is assisting with the distribution of these before the game.

These are similar to the ones used at recent England matches at Wembley. Essentially, they are like this :
- but with appropriate printing, before some smart-arse leaps in!

Everyone is aware that these sort of things are a "Marmite" issue. Some people love them, while others - including some STAR Board members, it must be said - hate them. They may or may not work in increasing the noise levels and drowning out the Birmingham fans (who will have a similar sort of thing), but it's something different which will hopefully change and lift the atmosphere at the MadStad - so if you don't like these please just leave yours under your seat, and let those who do like these sort of things enjoy them.

I think everyone is aware that some people don't like these and that they're not in the spirit of "traditional" football and the terrace culture of the old days. But even if that's your view, at least recognise that the football club is putting their hand in their pocket - a sizable sum, too - to do their best to lift the atmosphere in what is not a "traditional" football stadium with a traditional terrace culture.

oxf*rd sake, that's put a bit of a downer on the game already for me. 90 minutes of what can only be described as, complete and utter cvnters will be trying their best to ruin what should be a decent atmosphere on it's own.

LOL at this too - as if anyone who thinks it's a crap idea gives two shits about how much it has cost the club (except for seeing it as a waste of money).

hang on, in the "good old terrace days" there were those rattles.

I'll be watching on telly, but will make my own clappers from a Fairy Liquid bottle.

Wouldn't the sizeable amount of money be better spent elsewhere? Especially as money at Reading is a little tight.

So whose bright idea was this? The Club or STAR?
