Smoking Kills Dancing Doe Most footballers aren't think. The decisions they have to make out on the pitch at the highest level are genius. Exercise slows the brain greatly, when Rooney sprints 70 yards and still has the composure to finish the way he did againt Arsenal a few months back is a great example of that.

Rooneys ability to do that is as much about instinct as intelligence. If you just know it, like a confident and instinctive player does, you don't need to think you just do. The brain knows exactly what you want to do and initiates it like it would a reflex. An unconfident player overthinks and inevitably cocks up.

Prob right. There's still a fair amout of brain power involved.
To be fair for all the stick Rooney gets, I think he comes across as very intelligent and thoughtful now days.
