Royals Return To Action

Reading are back in league action this weekend after two weeks off due to the International break. The Royals will be looking to continue their fine home form, after the last two league fixtures saw an away draw at Barnsley and a defeat at Burnley. Reading have been poor away from home all season, so the visit of Doncaster Rovers will be seen as a decent opportunity to get back to winning ways. At the Madejski Stadium this season we've won three, drawn two and kept clean sheets in the last three home fixtures. Rovers may be down in 17th place in the Championship table but are just seven points behind the Royals and their last away game was a 1-0 victory at Sheffield Wednesday.

The two teams have met eight times in the Championship, all since 2008, and the record is stacked up firmly in Reading's favour. The Royals have won six of those games and the other two were draws. Doncaster will be looking for their first ever win at the Madejski Stadium, having lost 2-0 (thanks to goals from Church and Le Fondre) and 4-3 in their last two visits.

Although Doncaster have injury worries of themselves, it's the Royals that have the most extensive injury list ahead of the game. Long terms injuries still rule out Jason Roberts, Mikele Leigertwood and Jem Karacan. Meanwhile it's not clear who will be available for selection from Drenthe, McClearly, Williams or Sharp. We could see the return to action of some of those players thanks to two weeks of rest since the last competitive action.
