Reading have been drawn to play Championship side Derby County away in the third round of the League Cup. The game will take place on 23rd September. Reading reached the third round of the competition after a first round home win against Newport Country and this weeks 1-0 away win at Scunthorpe.
Derby were 2-0 winners at Carlisle in their first round game before defeating Charlton 1-0 at home to reach round three. The last time Reading faced Derby in the league cup was back in 1994 when they faced Derby over two legs - going out after a 3-1 home win was followed by a 0-2 defeat at Derby.
